The European Championship expands by six more players. In mid-October two last chance cups open for everyone will be held, determining three players each. Due to short notice announcements some players missed their national qualifiers. Since we want to have the best competition possible at Intel Extreme Masters, these cups were a necessary consequence.

Three months ago the ESL Amateur Series for Quake Live opened to give the UK community the opportunity again to see Quake again in the ESL Pro Series. Today we are happy to announce that Quake Live will be in the upcoming season and the players that have qualified so far.

Finally the overall champion of the Intel Extreme Masters Game On Cup in Quake Live has been determined. One of the biggest cup series in the history of ESL has now found its master. The man who survived eight national cups, a national finals groupstage including playoffs and a cross country finals groupstage with playoffs is Kévin 'strenx' Baéza from fnatic. Congratulations!

We are looking for 16 more participants who will fight in the Intel Extreme Masters European Championship. The top four of our four qualification cups will join 16 invited players to fight for a lot of prize money in the finals. A prize money total of $13.200 awaits everyone in the European Championship.
