We are extremely happy to announce a second season of the ESL Major Series powered by ASUS. Like the first season, the ESL Major Series will feature a wide selection of games across the FPS, RTS and Sports genres. We also have great prizes to win in a raffle!

The greatest achievements within eSports was handed out for the fourth time this year in Leipzig, Germany, at the Games Convention: the eSports Award! Right now you can download the whole ceremony of the 2007. Furthermore we present a short review of the eSports Award 2005 in this news. Check it out and enjoy emotions, stars und great atmosphere.

A few weeks ago we began to focus our combined computing power on Spinhenge@Home, a German project from the University of Bielefeld. We have begun taking big steps towards first place, in response to this the current first place team, Planet3Dnow, have challenged us to a race!

In November, the Electronic Sports League (ESL) counted more than 1.06 million unique visitors. This is the largest number of visitors in the history of the ESL. More than 750,000 active users worldwide are registered on this eSports platform. The million user milestone shows that apart from registered users, many unregistered persons use the site.

The Intel® Extreme Masters already stopped in Los Angeles and at DreamHack for the Global Challenge. But we didn't just have the best gamers in the world at our events. Intel® had a film team on the spot to create the first real movie about eSports. By having teams like SK Gaming, fnatic and many more, the crew already got enough material to provide a trailer for you. Enjoy the first impressions of what will be the eSports movie highlight in 2008!

After a little delay the new team profile design, to match the new player profiles, is now online. Nonetheless, both the player and team profile page designs are not final. We look forward to your suggestions and constructive feedback for more improvements. Why the need for a news post? There has been an important change to the team logos.

Turtle Entertainment in cooperation with kadawittfeldarchitektur and the elite RWTH Aachen University to find the eSports arena of the future! Thirty-five amibitious students will produce a model of what they believe is the eSports Arena of the future and hope to win the 1,000 Euro prize.
