The Scandinavian EPS Qualifier Rule Handbook
1.This Rulebook is a general outline of the rules to be followed in all games during the qualifiers of EPS Scandinavia.
a.Admin’s word is law, An admin may rule on something that may not be written in the rulebook, or will contradict towards this rulebook, to preserve the general fair competition and free spirit of the competition
b.This rulebook is merely a guideline, not every scenario will be depicted in this rulebook, and we ask all participants to use common sense wherever needed.
c.This rulebook may be changed without prior notice, and is not absolute.
d.All Team leaders, and preferably players are required to stay in #esl.sca for the duration of the qualifiers.
2.Matches, moving of matches, deadlines, and forfeits.
a.Any match is to take place in its given time, and the only way to reschedule is as follows:
i.Any rescheduling has to be done at the latest 24 hours before match start.
ii.Both teams have to agree on a new time, and the time has to be confirmed by team leaders, or team captains of both teams in the comment section of the match.
iii.The match-link is then sent to an admin via irc message
iv.The admin confirms that the match has been moved to the new allotted timeslot.
b.Wildcards
i.Each team has 2 wildcards to be used in the group stages of the tournament.
ii.A wildcard can be used to force a reschedule of a match
iii.A wildcard can be used to add a player to the team without incurring penalty point
iv.A wildcard will remove 1 penalty point at the end of group stages.
v.Wildcards are not available in the playoffs of the tournaments, due to the tight schedule.
c.In the event that it is impossible to get in touch with opposing team or player to reschedule, the following steps should be taken.
i.The teams Leader, manager or captain should clearly state that they cannot play on the allotted time, and suggest at least 3(three) new possible times for the match to take place. A team uses a wildcard when doing this.
ii.The team in question should provide proof that they have indeed tried to contact the opposing team. Screenshots, irc logs, and msn logs are preffered.
iii.If a team lacks the necessary contact details, or the contact details of that team are incorrect on the ESL page, admin should be contacted, and will penalize the team accordingly.
d.Default wins, and forfeits, A match is default won or lost if, and only if:
i.Default loss is a 30-0 loss.
ii.It is possible to reschedule a match after deadline but ONLY if both teams agrees and it is confirmed allowed by an admin.
iii. There has been no communication from the losing party, all contact info is missing, or incorrect, and no representatives from the team is available on #esl.sca
iv.If a team is not present at the latest 15 minutes after the scheduled match start.
v.If a team is later than the scheduled match start, the team will receive 1 penalty point.
vi.Any team that does not show, and before the match does not communicate that they cannot show for the given time will be penalized with 3 (three) penalty points. Together with the default loss of 30-0 of the match
vii.If a team communicates before the allotted match start that they cannot show for the match, and are too late to reschedule, the team will only get a default loss of 30-0 without any penalty points.
3.Penalties, and penalty points, where they are given, what effect they have and why they are given.
a.Any team that accumulates 5 penalty points during the qualifiers are automatically disqualified.

iv.There is a .5 penalty point fine for every aequitas file not uploaded 24 hours after a match has ended.
v.If more than 3 Aequitas files are missing from a match, the opponent has the right to claim a default win. But only if every aequitas file has already been uploaded.
vi.If 3 or more aequitas files are missing, the team will receive 3 penalty points. Regardless of claims of default loss.
vii.If a player did not start aequitas, the opponent has the right to claim a rematch.
viii.If multiple players did not start aequitas on one team, the opponent has the right to claim default loss.
ix.If a player did not start aequitas for a single map in a bo3, the opponent has the right to claim rematch of that map only, in severe cases default loss of the map can be given out.
x.It is possible for a player to have aequitas starting without it being showed on the webpage, so double check if an aequitas file has been upped before claiming.
c.Other Uploads
i.In every match there should be a screenshot of halftime, and fulltime scores for every map, uploaded by the team captain of the winning team. This is to verify the scores.
ii.In eye demos are to be recorded, and uploaded upon request in the match comments. The request can be made by either opponent, or by admins. No scores are deemed valid unless all requested media has been uploaded and verified. Demo’s should be named dem-map-teamtag-nickname. I.e.: dem-inf-SHIELD-flabbert
1.There can be a maximum of 2 requests of demos per map
2.Demo requests may be deemed invalid by admins, if admin sees the request pointless, or the request has purely been made to fish for a default win.
