Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the ESL Pro Series?
A:The EPS also known as the ESL Pro Series, is a Professional League of computer games, organized by the Electronic Sports League, and its partners. 12 Teams will participate for glory, and prizemoney in order to crown themselves as the best team in the Nordic region.

Q:What is the EAS Division 1?
A:The EAS, which stands for the ESL Amateur Series, is a ladder and league based system for qualifying for the ESL Pro Series, EAS Division 1A and Divsion 1B are 2 equal divisions each division will hold 12 teams, where the winner of each division will get a direct promotion to the ESL Pro Series, and teams from 2nd to 4th will play a relegation tournament for the final spots in the next season of the ESL Pro Series. This will be the only way to qualify for the following seasons of the ESL pro Series. You qualify for the ESL Amateur Series Division 1 through the EAS quickladder.

Q:What is the ESL Amateur Series?
A:The ESL Amateur Series is a special ladder that any team which meets the requirements can join, and play, and at the end of every season, the top teams in the ladder will be promoted to EAS Division 1 A or B.

Q:Qualifiers?
A:For the upcoming season we do not have an established EAS system to readily get teams from, therefore there will be a one time set of qualifiers for each country, and an EAS PreSeason ladder where teams can qualify for the open spots from their respective countries.

Q:What is the last chance qualifier?
A:The last chance qualifier is where the teams placed as #3 ,#4 ,#2 ,#3 ,#2 ,#3 ,#2 ,and #3 in the respective national qualifiers will duke it out in a 8 team single elimination bo3 bracket for the 2 designated spots in the ESL Pro Series.

Q:Can i play in both the EAS PreSeason and Qualifiers?
A: Yes you can participate in both types of qualification, in fact it is encouraged, that teams use both the options available to them, so they have the best possible chance of participating in the ESL Pro Series or ESL Amateur Series Div. 1

Q:What happens with a team that makes it through both means of qualification?
A:When a team qualifies through both the EAS, and the National qualifiers, the best position that the team acquired will count, and the worst position will be removed from the respective ranking, where the next team in line will get that spot.

Q:How do i qualify through the EAS PreSeason?
A:The top 4 of the ladder on the closing date will be seeded into a mini tournament, where the winner of this mini tournament will be awarded the final spot in the ESL Pro Series, and the 3 other teams will be awarded a spot in the ESL Amateur Series Div. 1. Team #5 to #8 in the ladder will be awarded a spot directly in the ESL Amateur Series

Q:I have more questions, where can i go?
A:Admins will regularly check the comments on this article, and try to answer any questions that may arise, there will also be support available on #esl.nordic on quakenet. Which will also be the channel to look for the EAS matches outside of the ESL Site

I hope we have a successful return of the series :)
i hope it doesnt take you 8 months to pay out half of the prizemoney.
First of all - This is a great news for all of us, especially for the Norwegian scene.

I have one question:

It says that only teams can participate. At ESL I'm in only one team - Gamers.nu, and I'm in plenty of clubs. Can I register a club to the qualfier? (won't play as a club, but its listed as a club by ESL. Is it possible to change "club" into "team", so that I'll be able to sign up with it ?
hofferN the only difference between a "team" and a "club" is that a team is signed up for leagues. If you sign up for a league with a club it will show up as a team.
DON1 is correct, a team and a club is essentially the same thing, a club has just not participated in a tournament yet.
Thanks alot for the replies! Helped me alot. I've got another question;

How is a Norwegian team defined. Can a Norwegian team consist of for instance 6-7players, and one or two of them beeing Swedish? hard for a clan that consits both nationalities to compete if not.
gl
To be counted a norwegian team, 60% of the lineup present in any match must be norwegian, same goes for the 3 other countries. If your team has a mix and match of nordic nationalities, the only option is to qualify through the EAS PreSeason ladder.
Will there be seeding at the National Qualifiers?
yes
Flabbert - I have to be the one asking the most questions, anyhow:

Is it "legal" to play with for instance 60% Swedish team in some matches in the ladder, and than only play with 60% Norwegian team in the National ladder?

This seems logical to me.
yes, that is legal.
How will the the National Qualifiers go down??
after signup has closed, all teams will be seeded into groups, for a groupstage, and the top2 of each group will go into a bracket.
Okay :) and how much time, do we have 2 play the groupstage
Good luck with this league.
