Interviews:

We sat down with the winners from the finnish team Helsinki right after the game:

Congratulations with the victory, how do you feel?
Kaljapallo: Exciting, real difficult to break down Clones defence but finally we managed to do it.

You went undefeated through the tourney, any teams you feared along the way, or before the tourney?
Kaljapallo: The finnish qualifier finalists were difficult so i thought they'd do better than they actually did. Didn't know much about the foreign opponents but i would've thought the norwegians would do better also.

What do you think about the tournament?
Kaljapallo: It was a bit of a shame that the swedes couldn't get a single team to the tournament but otherwise it was a real good tournament

Well, thanks for your time and again, congratulations. Any last words or
shoutouts?

Kaljapallo: yeah shotouts for haxball! for the hockey mode.

We also took a chat with the second place winner, Clone:

So, despite fighting hard and making it a game 3 in the finals, you lost. What are you thoughts about the finish champions?
KillaloT: Well, since they won the finish qualifiers and going through the tournament without loosing a single match i feel they are the right winners. Overall it just seemed they had more control on the field.

Despite going down to the lower bracket early, you fighted all the way back into the finals. What do you think about the other teams?
KillaloT: Boedkerabe and GAMBLE were really nice players, they had excellent control. The thing is that after the danish qualifier we decided to do the "turtle defence" strategy. This game is more about tactics and backing eachother up, than doing smart tricks. We only got through by that strategy, and Helsinki used the exact same.

What do you think about the tournament?
KillaloT: Well, the main admin didn't show up in the beginning, which was kinda frustrating. Also, some teams were not aware of the loser bracket system. But after the first 2-3 rounds everything went smooth, and all players were so nice.

Haxball is more of a "im boored" kinda game, but do you want more of these cups or is the ladder enough?
KillaloT: We havent played this game more than 30 minutes, and we didnt practice from the national qualifiers and until the championship. So I am not gonna play in the ladders (sorry), however i might join more cups if they eventuelly pop up.

Anyways, congrats on the second place, any last words or shoutouts?
KillaloT: First of all congratulations to team Helsinki, Ihmiskuula and Kaljapallo, they did a really nice job, had super solid play! Thanks to ESL for the tournament, and especially thanks to you (Sawdaw) and flabbert for eventually joining up as admins :) Also, thanks to my awesome teammate peder2tm <3
