Now we have this tournament which is some of the best prizes seen on this league and the majority of the community is left out because it is French only. Prize tournaments like this should be highly competitive, large tournaments. They should not be contested between 3 teams, all from France, who are the only skilled players in the entire tournament.
EkP_
dLIGHT
Well that's your opinion and obviously teams will be trying to prove you wrong. 8v8 teams won't 'move' from 8v8, they will compete in any tournament and any format providing the prizes are there. Regardless, it is just stupid to restrict the entire EU community from tournaments like this. What is the reason other than circle-jerking the French community at the expense of the rest of us?
EkP_
Every 8on8 tournaments are online, why do you think EA and other partners give so many for a tournament ? Because we will have a lan tournament and on 8on8 it's only online and you know that online tournaments doesnt mean because of all case of cheaters in many teams. It's well know, when you have cash prize online, cheats are there too.
Maybe if all german teams and other EU teams will understand that 8on8 is not suitable (i'm ok for saying that it's the battlefield's spirit) we will have big online and offline tournaments in 5v5 open for everyone.

Okay you obviously don't have a clue. I was asking why this tournament is restricted to French teams only, and you reply talking about 8on8 vs 5on5. That isn't even remotely relevant to what I was asking you. THIS is a big 5on5 online / lan tournament. If teams in EU want to play in this and are committed to attending the LAN then they should be allowed to play.
Thanks Tomesch for an actual answer.
EU community doesn't care of 5v5 mode, so let us laugh.
Trust me. EU community cares where the money and prizes are, that is all. If tomorrow all prizes for 8on8 was dropped, and 5on5 tournaments like this started appearing everywhere, then the majority of 8on8 teams would come and play them. You're saying the EU community should be punished for some teams not liking 5on5? That's just destructive to the entire BF3 esports scene. It should be a collective European community where teams compete cross-country. It should not be each country jerking themselves off to see whose cum flies the furthest.

For example with 5on5 we had a lot of tournaments and prizes, this one is the National French Cup (it's like in football, EU teams can't participate). We had another 5on5 tournaments and all teams could have been participate, but no one did.

Easy to care where the money is, and not about the game mode lmao. We are playing 5v5 since BF3 release to build an esport scene in France. Now, we can see that works ! We have only 1 gamemode in France, and that's why the community doesn't split into 3 gamemode. EU mind need to change to make an Eu esport scene.
U mad bro ?
EkP_
I think we have already ask for having more 5on5 cups in EU but you're still playing 8on8. Now it's too late for complaining. Maybe if all 8on8 teams leave and go to 5on5 EA and/or other partners will organize something cool in EU.
dLIGHT
Can you remind me how much prize money was available for the EU 5on5 Cup?

What does it matter whether you follow the money or not? 8on8 teams are able to do this because they have larger teams so they can compete in both 8on8 and 5on5, there is no problem here. The problem is this attitude that you have where you think 'the French' are entitled to a scene with big sponsors and big prizes, and everyone else should be excluded. eSports is about creating the biggest community as possible so that the game appears more attractive to investors and organisations, and consequently it will get bigger and better prize tournaments. But of course you don't care about this at all because you realise that within the French-only community you have a higher chance of winning. Why else wouldn't you want all EU teams competing.
Beniii
Now I hope that tournament will start moving the EU teams.
Mafia
Actually, i don't think EU can beat a TOP 4/5 Fr team.

Don't be so naive as to think that all 8on8 teams have shit inf. With the dedication these teams put towards 8on8, instead focused on 5on5, I could name 3 teams at least that could destroy these tournaments.
Mafia
I just saying that ACTUALLY, french team have a lot of advance on .eu teams. And ACTUALLY no one can beat Fr team, because we playing 5v5 since the start of BF3.
dLIGHT
Carry on underestimating the teams that are about to enter the 5on5 scene. Be my guest.

You talk a lot, yet you haven't proved anything. We're all waiting for any good 5on5 european teams to perform in that game mode.
And to make things clear, that tournament is supported by EA. ESL did not take any decisions concerning country restrictions.
"Coupe de France" I know it's in french but you can easly understand it's a national event.

Slightly offtopic:
EPS is absolutely ridiculous, with the amount of terrible players in this game there's no way there can be more than 3-4 decent teams in a country for 8v8, have fun in that 'pro' league, we only play 8v8 for fun yet we can dominate most of the EPS teams easily.
B0t.

2- This event is built by EA FRANCE (FRANCE = ONLY FRENCH), the community manager may be better than in other countries ?
3- We do not underestimate any team, on the contrary we would be happy to have more. Everyone is free to choose his method of play.
This section is French, thank you for speaking only in French and tanks google traduction.
