My anti-virus software claims ESL Wire has a virus?
Usually this is not a problem with most anti-virus softwares. It is a false positive. The reason for this is because the way ESL Wire Anti-Cheat works is similar to the methods used by some viruses. If your anti-virus causes problems then you should setup exceptions for your anti-virus for the ESL Wire folder. You should contact the support of your Anti-Virus software.

AVG Anti-virus
AVG usually removes the driver during the installation, causing the following error:
Unknown error while copying ESLWireACD.sys file!
While installing ESL Wire, then do this temporarily:

1. Double click the AVG try icon
2. Go to Tools->Advanced Settings
3. Go to Resident Shield
4. Untick 'Enable Resident Shield'

This is a permanent solution to prevent AVG from having problems with ESL Wire once installed properly:

1. Double click the AVG try icon
2. Go to Tools->Advanced Settings
3. Go to Resident Shield->Directory Excludes
4. Click Add Path
5. Add the path to the ESL Wire folder, e.g. Program Files\ESL Wire

Comodo Firewall
Comodo injects a dll into every running process, and unfortunately this sometimes cause ESL Wire to totally freeze. The only solution is to uninstall Comodo.

F-Secure Anti-virus
F-Secure usually prevents ESL Wire from running, causing the following error:
The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library...
You need to disable the DeepGuard in F-Secure feature to fix this error.

Mcafee Anti-virus
Mcafee usually deletes wire.exe during the installation, causing the following error:
Unable to execute file/CreateProcess failed; code 2.
It is not possible to add exceptions in Mcafee, therefore you need to disable Mcafee while installing and using Wire.

What does “ESLvnic Virtual Network has not passed Windows Logo testing” mean?
It’s nothing to worry about and you can continue the installation process. It just means, that the network driver that will be installed with ESL Wire (needed for VLAN), is not approved and checked by Microsoft, which costs a lot of money.

0x800c0005 - Error downloading
If you get this error during the installation, just write the link which is below this error message in your address bar (without the quotes) and you should be able to download and install ESL Wire.

Game crash/freezes on start
If your game is freezing or crashing on start, then you should disable the overlay in Wire. There is no other fix available yet. This issue only exists on old video cards.

Black/Desktop screenshots
If you are getting black/desktop screenshots under Windows Vista or Windows 7, this is most likely caused by UAC (User Account Control).
The easiest fix for this issue is to disable it.

Anti-Cheat has been stopped, because the driver is not installed.
If the driver is not installed, this usually means that it was deleted by an Anti-Virus software. You should contact the support of your Anti-Virus software.

Only the following operating systems are supported:
Windows XP SP3
Windows Vista SP2
Windows 7 / Windows 7 SP1
Check your operating system with start->run->winver
If it is not on the above list (including exact service pack!) then you must uninstall/install the correct service pack or version of Windows.

Lags when the Anti-Cheat is enabled
If you are getting lags when the Anti-Cheat is enabled, you should first try to disable your Anti-Virus. If you are still getting lags, close all unneeded background programs.
Under Source engine games, type "mat_queue_mode 0" in the console.

Connection is closing on Anti-Cheat data upload an Atheros network card
If your connection is closing when ESL Wire uploads Anti-Cheat data and you got an Atheros video card, you need to do the following:
1) Go to the "Device Manager"
2) Under "Network adapters", right click on your Atheros card, and click on Properties
3) Go to the "Advanced" tab
4) Change "Task Offload" to "Off"

ESLvnic not available. VLAN … stopped.
ESL Wire was probably installed without the VLAN components and drivers. Without the ESL Wire network driver VLAN can’t be used, it’s also possible that you aborted the network driver installation at the “Windows certification test” (see above).

Critical: The router is not following any known rules for translating ports. It’s unlikely that incoming connections are possible.
To use VLAN, ESL Wire needs to establish a connection between users over the internet. That means that ESL Wire needs to build a connection through your router. Your router translates the connection in a way ESL Wire can’t interpret it. ESL Wire won’t be able to establish to connections to other players, or just randomly. To avoid disconnects or connection errors a different way to establish your connection should be chosen, you should manually create a port mapping within your router, or enable UPnP.

Steam games not detected
Source engine games come up with a "gameinfo.txt" error when launching them
Logout appears less than 1 min after Login
Adding any Steam game manually will cause errors such as "setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesnt exist in subdirectory 'hl2' check your -game parameter or vconfig setting".

They need to be auto detected.

Save this .reg file on your desktop:

and double click on it, and click yes.

Restart ESL Wire, and the game should be automatically added to your game list.
