ESL Wire Anti-Cheat: Open Beta!
Today we can announce what was teased about last week's status update: following a successful Closed Beta we are launching a (short) Open Beta of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat. The goal of this Open Beta is to test the performance of our servers, before pushing the big red button for the official release.
A secondary goal is that we also wish to have a larger number of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat users with more diverse PC systems in order to solve any new problems that appear before the release.
We decided to have this Open Beta to ensure a smooth change over for all users from Aequitas to ESL Wire Anti-Cheat. Altogether there are more than 50,000 players using Aequitas everyday, who will have to switch to ESL Wire Anti-Cheat at once. A phased one-by-one changeover is neither possible nor practical. So this is the best chance for all ESL Aequitas standalone users to get to know ESL Wire before they really have to use it.
Your benefit is getting used to ESL Wire Anti-Cheat in advance, before it will be doing its work in real ESL matches. Of course, it is not allowed to test cheats! Some detections are active already. The means that you will receive 12 penalty points during or after the Open Beta, if you "test" a cheat!
If you wish to participate in the Open Beta of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat, follow these steps:
1.) Download and install ESL Wire 1.7 (AC Beta)
Attention: No Aequitas is included in this version! For regular ESL matches you still have to install and use the current official Wire Version or the standalone version of Aequitas.
2.) Join an Open Beta Test Ladder:
There is a 1on1 Ladder for each of these game. Premium and Trustlevel 3 (for certain countries) is required.
3.) Create a match via Matchmaker, manual challenge or Instant Challenger and use ESL Wire to to play the match. There are no obligations for these matches, so if there are any problems, you can simply delete the match. Testing of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat is the priority, not competition.
4.) Even though the server side performance testing is the main reason for the Open Beta, your feedback is still important! We ask each participant of the ESL Wire Anti-Cheat Open Beta to complete a small survey. It is helpful that you complete it, even if no problems occurred!
We want to thank you kindly in advance for completing the survey - THANK YOU!
We are looking forward to your feedback and even more to the upcoming release of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat. From then on the actual war against cheaters will recommence and we are raring to going to war with our new arsenal of weapons!
