Now who expected such an outcome?  mTw - coming from the loser bracket - wins the fifth  ESL WC3L Season! The 2on2 of ThePig/Aether managed to overcome the Swedish powerhouse FuRy/LaWn in three really close games.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have an overall final: the still acting champions from  Four Kings face the champions of season 3 mTw. Remembering Playday 10 of the regular season we know that 4K is able to beat the German clan - back then the score was 4:1 against mTw. Now, their lineup changed quite a lot and the royal clan should not have a that easy task anymore.
This whole final will be BO3 and 4K is up by one point since they come from the winner bracket. So if mTw manages to win in this first clanwar, there will be a second, deciding one. If 4K wins the first match their "repeat" is perfect.

Whoa, what a close game... After  aT lost against mTw we finally have a loser bracket final that couldn't be more promising: The rematch of mTw and  SK.int. The international squad managed to win in the winner brackets' semi-final with 3:2, now the German team will definitely try to do better and fight more successfully.

Good morning and welcome to the second day of the fifth ESL WC3L Playoffs. We won't have as many games as yesterday but the intensity and tension certainly won't decline.
The match we are starting with today is armaTeam against mTw. As our last poll showed us ("Who will win Season 5 of the WC3L?") the winner of this match is already determined: 22% of our visitors believe in a victory for the German clan while only 9% see the Frenchies succeeding to and winning in the finals.
The encounter of the two teams during the last regular season ended in a 3:2 victory for mTw. We'll see if they can repeat this result or if ToD, Blatty and friends can do better this time.

The best is coming in the end as today's highlight is approaching: The final of the winner bracket will take place tonight at about 22:30 CET. The Four Kings - the champions of season 4 and first of the fifth regular season - face Schroet Kommando International - the two time WC3L champion and second of regular season - in the most wanted match. As our last poll tells 34% expect SK.int to win this season while 29% place their bets on 4K.
Of course this match is also a big chance for 4K to revenge their devastating loss during the regular season on Playday 4 against the European squad (remember: SK managed to win without losing a single map).

After aT decided to forfeit the two 2on2s against 4K and a short pause we can look down to the loser bracket where two nice matches are coming up. First of all mTw currently prepares to face the Danes of  MYM at 19:30 CET. This match already took place during the regular season on Playday 1 when the German team managed to overpower the Danisch powerhouse with 3:2. Since the lineup of mTw was changed a lot during the last games you should not expect the same outcome once again.

The time for the acting champions of the ESL WC3L Series has come to rise once again: The Four Kings finally have their first match against the French armaTeam right now.
At the same time this may be the revenge for the Frenchies to beat the royal clan after losing the final of Season 4 against them. With aT's latest addition, the Brazilian undead player Skyward, their chances to win this promising match are not too bad.

After the small break we are back on track with the regular season's second Schroet Kommando International facing the happy winners of round one, mTw. At about 14:00 CET HeMaN, FaTC and the rest of NuKe's team will show if they are able to do better against the German team than in last playoffs.
Now, mTw's latest addition Aether will play and probably bring some headaches for the all-human 1on1-Lineup of SK.int. Make sure to get a slot on ESL TV to follow these promising matches.

No pauses for the players today: Parallel to 3wD vs. mTw the Frenchies from armaTeam (that arrived lately last night) encounter the Danes from Meet Your Makers (who arrived in later) at at about 11:30 CET. A match of "who prepared the least"? Cetainly not since all players are busy preparing themselves since several hours. ESL TV will stick to to the other match - but still Waaagh! TV and our shoutcasts will cover this promising match as well.
The both team's encounter during this season ended positively for the French guys. Blatty and his allies managed to win with a convincing 4:1 on Playday 9. Now the chances are more even since Deadman and the American aT-players are not present this weekend.

Finally, the big day has come! The fifth ESL WC3L Playoffs are about to start with a really promising match: mTw face 3wD at 10:00 CET. Whoever manages to get up that early on a Saturday (besides the players, the coverage-teams and the admins, of course) can expect one of this season's closest matches. Make sure to enjoy this big game by securing a spot on ESL TV with KidArctica (English), GreatSam, McHotDog and SK.sTOrM (German).

The end of season 5 of the ESL WC3L Series is approaching with big steps as it is just one more week till the Playoffs in Cologne start. During the 26th and 27th of June the the 4Kings, SK International, mTw, the armaTeam, Meet Your Makers and 3wD will meet in the heart of Germany to fight for the crown of the WC3L. The whole tournament will be played in double-elimination. Watch the grid to see all possible matches.
 The location of this great event is in the Mediapark - a very modern part of Cologne. As you can see on the picture there will be a lot of room. That is why we invite you to come here and watch the matches live and direct on a big screen, meet the players, admins and orgas and have a good time overall. The doors will open at 9:00 CET on Saturday and Sunday. The admission will be 3,- € for one day and 5,- € for the whole weekend. There will be a huge spectator-area with an even bigger screen for all visitors and two gaming-rooms for the players on overall more than 400 m². The exact adress is:
