The map Terenas Stand contains a bug which allows mercenaries to be hired right away, giving certain races an unfair advantage. In order to keep up the competitive spirit of the WC3L we decided to update our rules to avoid the abuse of this map specific bug.

Rule III.b maps

Terenas Stand: Assassin and Murloc mercenaries can only be purchased at the Mercenary Camp after all the creeps at the Mercenary Camp have been crept. Violation of this rule may result in a default loss.

This rule update is in effect as of now and will therefore be valid for round 2 of the WC3L Qualification Season X and the WC3L Season IX offline Playoffs.

Round 1 of the WC3L qualification comes to an end this Sunday at 4:30 PM CET when the American team Enervate Gaming meets the Austrialians of Australia United.

The Electronic Sports League is expanding at an enormous rate. We seeded the descending teams on the first spots and the three most promising applicants randomly behind. The rest is randomly chosen. The tourney will be double elimination, except round one. So the teams that lose in the first round will not get the chance to play again.

Four teams will battle it out for two spots on next season's roster during the Playdowns. The two losers on this day will doom themselves to a lengthy qualifier tournament in which they'll have to defeat many worthy opponents in order to play in the league next season. That's right, the time has come once again for yet another qualification tournament for the WC3L, and seeing as this is our tenth season, teams from all around plus the losers of the relegation matches fnatic vs United 5 and mouz vs verge are looking to be a part of Warcraft III history. 4 teams will earn themselves a spot in Season X via this tournament, and with such high stakes, competition will be fierce. Due to some necessary changes and improvements the Electronic Sports League will be offline next wednesday (10.05) between 11pm and 3am CET. This is a planned serverchange in the servercenter that will allow us to have make some improvements to avoid the bad luck problems we had last time and to optimise the server.

The regular season is over, but what most other teams are really looking forward to is the qualification tournament for the next season. That is why we are starting the application period for the tenth season of the WC3L today. This period will last until today, May 7.

After a long and difficult season, we've finally approached the playoffs. Only 2 of these 4 amazing teams will be able to make it to the offline finals.
