Upcoming Thursday will mark the release for GTR in Germany. This racing game based on the official license for the 2003 FIA GT Championship will feature all cars and tracks of series in every detail there is.
It will also feature a multiplayer capability, which of course makes it interesting for the Electronic Sports League.
We had the possibitity to get our hands on the German retail version of the game and would like to let you know a little bit more about the game.

The end of the current and the start of the next season are approaching with huge steps. Once again we will organise a qualification tournament to determine which six teams will join the best six teams in the WC3L next season.
After the two weeks lasting application period more than 70 clans hoped to get the chance to compete in the most challenging international Warcraft 3-league. We picked out 26 teams from around the world which will accompany the four relegating teams. The 7th and 8th place from the current season will receive a wildcard to the second round of the winner-bracket.
These teams are (in no particular order):

The ESL league launches with licence partner Gaming.pl in Poland. The ESL Poland will initially be starting off with two ladders of the multiplayer-classic Counter-Strike and then gradually broaden the ESL Poland player portfolio.

The season's end is approaching with big steps and therefore every single point is getting more important. On Wednesday at 19:00 CET SK Gaming International encounters Team 3wD in a battle for the best Playoff spots.

Tomorrow we're featuring another thrilling playday 10 match between the "Koreans" of 4K and the Slovakians from SGC.
The battle for the playoffs is going to continue, as almost nothing is decided up to now. Mouz, SK , 4K and even mTw still have chances to qualify themselves directly for the offline finals,while two of them will have to play a decider against the teams ranked 5th & 6th.
The Kings have played a pretty solid season so far and will aim for a 5:0 win to catch up with the current leading team Mouz in order to be in a good position for the final battle against them next week.
SGC on the other side has lost all their playoff hopes long time ago and will finish their 1st season of WC3L with this match on a somewhat disappointing last place.However they will try to requalify in the upcoming qualifier and eventually surprise everybody once again.
On the paper, the roles for this match seem quite clear, but if the outcome will be as expected, remains to be seen.

This is going to be a close one, 5th-ranked 64AMD is going to meet MYM, who are only one point and therefore one place behind them. The Playoffs come towards us and both contenders are willed to secure their ticket - while 3wD and DkH are standing closely at their back.

MYM's Korean powerhouse consisting of Susiria and GoStop is feared by everyone in the WC3L as they won four out of four 2on2s. So if they should be present tomorrow, it's going to be a tough task for 64AMD to win these games. But also the rest of MYM's roster isn't to be underestimated.

64AMD's goalgetter is named Caravaggio, but still there are other very strong contenders such as ElakeDuck, Crimson and SaSe who make the squad a strong one. But are they strong enough to resist the powerful Korean/Danish mixture of MYM? We will see at 19:00 CET who can pave his way to the finals...

By the way: our dear visitors are divided into two quite equal groups concerning their size. About 40% see MYM in front with a 3:2 victory while another 40% bet on 64AMD to win with 3:2.

Another all-german clanwar is awaiting us, the two Team-Ger Captains SK.TheKoenna and mTw-Rax send in their squads: SK.Ger vs. mTw.
The facts: SK.Ger is ranked on the 9th spot without any computeable chance of getting into the Playoffs, but they won just lately against DkH 3:1, motivation still seems to be alive. The fact that their 2on2-team BoNe/KaiN left the squad a few days ago shouldn't have a big effect - as they rarely played for SK.Ger.
The other side: mTw lost their last two clanwars vs. MYM and mousesports closely with 2:3 - but this time their new playersadditions ShoCK and DIDI8 are allowed to play, who may turn the tide this time. Their 4th rank shows that Rax' guys did better than SK.Ger did, so they're the clear favourite for this clanwar.

The 6th season of the ESL WC3L Series comes to an end in a few weeks and we are getting closer and closer to the playoffs and are thus also approaching the next qualification tournament.

Out of the current clans in the league only the best six are automatically requalified for the next season. If your clan wants to participate send us an application, written in english, by E-Mail to baschi@wc3l.com until October, 24 (24/10/2004 - 23:59) at the latest, containing at the very least the following information:

For every Warcraft3-pervert out there we're having a stunning threesome tomorrow. Firstly we have SK.Int vs 64AMD. Both teams always guarantee an exciting match. Especially in this case when you take into considering last week's King of the Hill match, which involved two players of these two teams.

Furthermore there's the all-German match SK.Ger vs DkH. Although DkH isn't doing half as bad as many expected (especially with their 2on2 team consisting of Davin and eLT who appear to be on fire lately), they're still looking for a way up on the ladder. Of course, Sk.Ger isn't trying anything else and they'll be sure to give it all they got to gain the edge in this match.

Lastly we have SGC vs Mouz. SGC hasn't won a single match so far, and Mouz being the current number 1 team doesn't like an easy target to surprise the scene with, but maybe they just might... ?

SK.Madfrog will face 64AMD.Caravaggio in a best of five encounter! There is no need to introduce MaDFroG anymore, he is simply one of the world's best. Caravaggio on the other hand just recently proved that he is at the moment more than able to play on MaDFroG's level by kicking him out of the World Cyber Games with 2:1 games. Furthermore he is the 2nd best 1on1 player in the current WC3L season with awesome stats of 14-3!

This match alone promises some really nice and close games, but their recent encounter at the WCG adds some extra tension. So don't miss this great match and reserve your spot on ESL TV!

Tonight team Homeless disbanded and will thus leave the WC3L. The players of team Homeless - formerly known as DSky - will partly go inactive and partly remain in the WC3L as some players will join other WC3L teams.

The team will not be replaced as the season is already far too advanced to have a new team continue with Homeless' score. The WC3L staff wishes the players the best of luck for the future.

This years World Cyber Games Warcraft 3 tournament has finally come to an end - and oh boy what a thriller it was!

While there were no big surprises in the group stage the Playoffs showed just how hard single elimination can be. One Favourite after the other was knocked out of the tournament and finally 2 of the world strongest players met in the Grand Final. 4K.Grubby managed to come back from a 0:1 against SK.Zacard and win it all.
