Schroet Kommando will be taking on the lackadaisical 64AMD European team. Come 20:00pm CET tomorrow evening you may want to avoid this site at all costs, heed my warning that you will be exposed to world class replays from unnaturally skilled gamers such as Insomnia, Survivor, Delicato, and Nitemare. These dull bums will be battling for the insignifigant title of the #5 ranked team in Europe. (copied from GheNTho's news 'Supine Sunday')

Only the most brilliant of teams earn the right to compete in the WC3L semi finals. It's already a wonderful accomplishment to have come this far in such a daunting atmosphere, but I imagine neither team will be satisfied with defeat. Based on popular opinion and recent LAN results it would be obvious to give 4K the advantage. Although nearly everyone agrees that this won't be a one-sided affair, I'd hope that most people aren't foolish enough to rule out the fearless Finns.

After some delays we finally managed to finish round 1 of our qualification tournament for season 5. This round was single elimination and some clans had to find out first hand how hard this can be. Some of the clanwars where decided in the last game after a total score of 2:2 and a match score of 1:1. The 2nd round did meanwhile already start, all games have to be played from 2nd till 8th February. Please note that with this round 2 also double-elimination mode begins. So every clan who might lose isn't automatically out of the qualification but goes to a loser bracket.
Be sure to check out the Qualification Grid, to get an overview of what's going on.
In case you missed any of the matches, here is a summary of what has happened in round 1:
» team9 vs. e2sports 3:2
As said before we still have to deal with some matches of Round 1. Tonight at 8 pm we will see the continue of the all Skandinavien war between team9 and e2s. The Swedes could get the upper hand in two 1on1s so far and have a 2-0 lead due to that. Tonight we'll see the last 1on1 and one of the 2on2s. The missing 2on2 will be played on Monday if needed.

» nDiv vs. Myth 3:2
A busy week for the WC3L comes to an end but we still have some qualifiers left.
First of all we are looking forward to the Swedish nDiv team facing Taiwanese Myth Clan at 5:30 pm. ndiv is basically a one man show by Vixen who is also known as Antwarrior and ranked high in Sololadder. Besides, the Orc duo Mobilat/Terwe is ranked 31st in the ladder and should be at least as challenging for the Taiwaneses as Vixen. Myth on the other side has a deeper lineup with top ranked players on Lordaeron and Kalimdor like Blue (aka IAmBlue), PeonElle, Smirnoff, Carefly or Mild-Seven.
Time will tell if we really underestimate our Swedish friends from nDiv.

» sTar vs. NG, 3:2
Second clash tonight will be an all French one between Netingame and sTar. While we all know sTar from the past regular season (at least for all the trouble they caused...), NG is a new clan for all WC3L visitors. Probably their best player is Undead user Jayce aka Oon who managed to reach the finals of our last Invite tourney and just lost there to mouz|Spell. The majority of Jayce's fellows are not as high ranked as him. Still, MiToU, ArKaiN or RouRou should be mentioned as strong players to look out for, too.

» 4x vs. SK.Ger 2:3
As the first round of the qualification tournament slowly comes to an end and we have seen a lot of great and even close games, another war promises a lot of tension. The German squad of SK.Ger will face the Russian all-stars from 4x at 5 pm today. While we know most of the German players from the past WC3L seasons, 4x could be something completely new for you.
Their lineup consists of an above-average number of high level players. Names like 2ndBR)HunteR, Easywinner, LusteD_GiRL, HoT_acc or You.Cant.Win (just to name the highest ranked) should ring a bell in every Ladder player's head. Anyway their roster lacks of really good teams. While their average solo-level is above 30, there is none of their duos in the ladder.

» 64AMDos vs. M5 5:0
But before this clanwar happens, another highlight of the 1st round matches in our WC3L-qualification tourney is going to take place: Team 64 AMD oversea (ex-Rival) vs. M5Team. The big favourite of this meeting is clearly the oversea-squad of 64AMDos with their korean stars like ShowTime, Gerrard, Lucifer and so on, so M5Team got a really tough competition on their first WC3L-war. We are all excited to see how this clanwar will develop.
64AMDos vs. M5 thursday 3pm CET:

» [aDK] vs. Id.Arcy 3:2
[aDK] vs. Id.Arcy, this clanwar is kinda hard to analyze. While all of the nordish guys from [aDK] are under lvl30 (i have no idea about possible smurphs), our eastern friends of Id.Arcy have an obviously stronger lineup with AbuserElf or Demon-TT. Off course this doens't tell much about who might win, so let's just await the results - unknown circumstances can be thrilling, too, can't they? ;)

» rew vs. MYM 2:3
At 8 pm CET two Northern lights fight for their spot in the Warcraft 3 Champions League. The Swedish team rewind contains some known players from past WC3L seasons. Great soloists like the almost legendary Luhrman or Highlevel Undead Hero.Star and strong duos like Krackmaster and Saitoh form a strong team with which their opponent MYM won't have an easy job. » WCB vs. kCc 3:2
Warcraft's Best are perhaps the most feared team in the qualification process, and they've earned that distinction. WCB is the home of several steller solo players such as FoV, Lyn, and HomeRunBall, all amazingly ranked inside the top 20 on the Khalimdor ladder. On the other side of the ring we have the unknown American clan with a questionable name, the Kitchen Cooking Crew. Although very few, especially from the European community, know a lot about these guys, they certainly are no walk-over. Recently in the NGA Pro-League (American clan league) kCc has gone undefeated, defeated teams such as rS and kk. kCc is known to posses strong 2on2 teams, including Sabre and RaZzZ, ranked top 10 on Kalimdor's arranged teams ladder. However, although WCB is known for their intimidating solo, their 2on2's are not to be overlooked. Crash and DarkNesS sit in the top 5 of Kaimdor's 2on2 ladder, and they also hold another team in the top 40. WCB are of course the overwhelming favorites in this match, we'll see if kCc can pull off not only an upset, but a miracle.
WCB vs. kCc, Monday 3 am
WCB_DarkNesS & WCB_Crash vs. Sabre[kCc] & RaZzZ[kCc] 1:2

At 6 am CET the legendary aLt)ernative clan meets the American allstar lineup from Au Fait in one of the first qualifiers. aLt) stands for reliable Asian online gaming since nearly four years now. This clan consists of the US Server's finest players - for example AiX' ex-members Aether and Apex.

At 4 pm CET we are looking forward to the all German speaking encounter between the newly formed mouz clan and the Natural Born [S]killers. After SK's surprising loss to mTw in the play off's first round we had a short chat with the squadleaders SK.NuKe and mTw|Rax tonight. Here is a short excerpt:
What do you think about SKs loss to mTw? Why did you lose?
Nuke: Because they were more motivated and played better than us would be the right answer. I believe that our mind and team spirit is already @ season5. We know a kinda hard time :(
» Read the whole statement off SK.Nuke.What do you think about SKs loss to mTw? Why did you lose?
Nuke: Because they were more motivated and played better than us would be the right answer. I believe that our mind and team spirit is already @ season5. We know a kinda hard time :(
What are your plans for season 5?
Nuke: Well we got our line-up ready for next season I assume, 1vs1 players: Sweet, Insomnia, Smurphet, FaTC, ToD, Heman, SuRviVoR / 2v2 only: ZeeRaX / Domi. MaDFroG would be able to play in 4 months. So I assume that season 5 will be for sure easier than this season was for us.
So sweet now definitely is a part of SK's wc3l team?
Nuke: Yes why not? He'll play for us in all events outside of Korea.
Who do you think will win the 4th season now that SK has left the race for the championship?
Nuke: 4K without any doubt, the grubbster orc is unbeatable, and the Croatian warden will rape :m(
Who do you think are the top 6 contenders (from the qualification) for a slot in season 5?
Nuke: WCB, MYM, e2s, 64AMD.korea (or whatever it's called), ocr, and my pupil ==> sTar
And here is the statement of the winning team's leader:
» Read mTw|Rax' statement
What were your first thoughts after winning the war against your "most liked foe" SK ?
mTw|Rax: Oh my god, the gallians LasH and Tak3r made the impossible possible. Second time in a row that we beat SK in playoffs, unbelievable.
Yes they really showed their best. Many people speak of a brilliant lineup on the side of mTw, how could you seed your warriors in such perfect way, did you expect the SK lineup?
mTw|Rax: We knew that SK have a statistic for every player, like who played on gw most time, and so we could expect what SK is expecting in relation with our lineup. Our consequence: Just mix the standard-maps of our players and train a lot. Worked :)
Since the war was very close and every player being under hard pressure, one could imagine various flaming and a lot of bad manner, was it really that way? Or what was the tone like?
mTw|Rax: Some folks have to think about their behaviour sometimes, but all in all the tone was very quiet and professional. The WC3L-Admins had their best day and let only SK, mTw and shoutcasters in the channel so that there was no space for flaming. My personal opinion: One of the best mannered clanwar, in a playoff-game on this level, I've ever seen.
While everybody is clanhopping, player-trading and expanding atm, the mTw lineup has seen only smallest changes in the past season. Is it a special tactic, is it the "family" that makes you so successful?
mTw|Rax: You found the right word. The family flair and team-spirit in the group is fantastic and I think I'm right if I say not comparable with other clans. That's the biggest reason for the guys to stay. The whole clan mTw is a family and that's our secret.
Some speak of aT being a big family in their "Armageddon", too. This brings us to my next question: What are your hopes for the semifinals, do you see yourself in the "Grand Final" or "Game for 3rd rank" ?
mTw|Rax: Our expectations for this season were exceeded and all that is coming now is a big surprise. We are in top 4 now and I think that a victory vs the armaTeam would be great but not needed because aT is a hard opponent. Whatsoever I, of course, do wish to take part in the grand final in my second season as Teamleader of mTw.
So gl HF in your next war ;). Last question: What are your plans for season 5 ?
mTw|Rax: Stay in the WC3L and reach the playoffs again. Thank you for the nice interview.
thX to you ;)
