We have finally reached the second to last playday. The race for the playoff places - although looking fairly much decided due to the number four in the ranking, a-Losers, having a 5 games lead over the number 5 - is still hotly fought over. This is mainly the case because in today's first match the number 3 mTw (mTw.alternate) has to face the number 4 a-L (a-Losers.MSI). They both currently have 21 points. A crushing defeat of one of these teams by the other could easily bring one of the runner-ups into close play-off range. mTw vs a-L starts at 5:30pm CET today.

Today's second match is [pG] (Pro Gaming) vs aT (armateam) which starts at 9pm CET. On first sight this matchup might not look too spectacular as aT's chances of dropping to a play-down place and [pG]'s chances of reaching such a place are equally low. But there are other issues making this matchup very interesting: aT is only 1 game ahead of SK in the race for 1st place in the round robin and [pG] can't afford to lose any points in the fight for a better position in the play-downs. The latter is especially important because in [pG]'s match vs their closest competitor, XSarena, the current standing is 2:2 with the last match also being played today. [pG] and XSa both have 12 points.

**Shoutcast**

Once more we present a german shoutcast by Gamesports.de! The first matchup will be castet by Kotan and the second by HeatN.

WC3L season No2 comes to an end in a few weeks and we're getting closer and closer to the playoffs and the playdowns. Thus we are also approaching the qualification week and even the start of the next season.

Only the top 4 clans of the 2nd season will automatically be qualified for season #3. The other 6 will battle for 3 direct and 3 indirect qualification slots , meaning that up to 3 new clans might join the WC3L.
If your clan wants to participate send in an application by email to me or to Baschi within the next 10 days (May 4th is the deadline)!
Your application should include at least the following things:


- Clanname
- Clanhomepage
- IRC Channel
- A list of the currently active players (you have to have at least 5)
- "accomplishments" of the clan
- individual "accomplishments" of the players (it would be nice if you could add direct links to lvl 20+ accounts of your players!)

As you might have realized during our last playday the clan formerly known as Netco) has changed its name to XSarena. Today i got the possibility to talk to one of their orgas Nicolas "Nichca" Renault and he was able to give me some further information about the namechange:

The 5 players Necto)Star.Chobo, Necto)Star.MeddY, Necto)Star.Okain, Necto)Star.DK and Necto)Star.ArMoR join the clan XSarena where they will melt with the two already existing players XSarena.MaXiweb and XSarena.TheBesT to create a powerful team that will take Netco)s spot within the WC3L. XSarena a well known qualifer for Open Cup WC3 Playoffs will be their sponsor and management. All additional information like their hompeage, irc-channel and WC3L-lineup can be found here.

During the last 3 days the majority of the international WC3 elite met in Toulouse to battle at the Clikarena for honor and of course a huge price money. Part of the 26 invited players was among some well known Koreans and other international top players also a huge pack of WC3L players. And some of the latter really kicked butt in Toulouse. They simply owned the Korean pros and made their way to the finals in the winner bracket as well as in the loser bracket. We are proud to announce that all 3 of the top 3 players are WC3L players and we congratulate eSu.DiDi8, eSu.Soul and SK.Insomnia for their amazing performance.

eSu.DiDi8 finished 1st place taking home the huge price money of 10,000 euros. With eSu.Soul who finished 2nd and took a prize money of 3000 euros he faced a fellow eSu in the grand final. SK.Insomnia, who finished 3rd, only lost in the winner bracket final and the loser bracket final taking home 1500 euros.
All the other WC3L players taking part in Toulouse did a great job too and they proved to the world where the real heart of WC3 beats at the moment - not in Korea or anywhere else in Asia but in Europe!

As you have probably noticed we had several downtimes in the recent days. That is due to power failures in the centre housing our servers.
These failures have affected our databases each time, leading to an increased downtime when the power was back, because the databases had to be fixed. Due to these downtimes fairly often occurrence in the last days and the incapability of our housing-centre to solve this issue we decided to move to another centre in the next days. This will lead to another, this time planned, downtime when our servers are being brought into the new housing-center.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you, and we will try to bring the databases back asap if any further power-failures occur before we are able to move into a new housing-centre.

After facing ocr.D-Link yesterday the german clan [pG] (pro-gaming.net) has sheduled itself a busy easter weekend. Today at 7pm CET they are going to play their postponed matchup from playday No5 vs. the french clan XSarena (former Netco)). 78% of the fans participating in our tip-game expect [pG] to win this one but we will see tonight if they are right or not. We will keep you up to date concerning scores, news and replays and we will once more try to arrange a shoutcast for you. Today it's twice Germany vs. Europe. In the early evening the german clan mTw (mTw.alternate) will face the european clan eSu. (e.Sports united) wich was just able to sign a new member in european top-player Didi8. We'll see if he is already in their lineup for today. After that at 9pm CET the current No 2 and 3 of the clan table will face each other. SK. (Schroet Kommando) will bring their best lineup to the table trying to defeat a-L. (Advanced Online Losers.MSI) the best ranked german clan at the moment featuring a-L.MSI.plaGuE the recently crowned german WC3-champion.
