WC3L Season 7 Preview: SK Gaming

|
The second preview for today will be about ![]() It’s the old-schoolers, baby! SK is a part of the WC3L since the very first season and guess what, they have always been among the favourites. Season 1: 1st, season 2: 1st, season 3: 2nd, season 4: 5th, season 5: 3rd, season 6: 3rd - that’s called consistent, I guess. Maybe the time has now come that these guys get back their crown… Projected Lineup:Backup: Man on the spot: MaDFroG Playing or not playing. That is the question if it comes down to MaDFroG. The Swede will go to Korea together with HeMaN and Zacard to take part in the WEG-league. Thinking back to season four when MaDFroG was in Asia for the first time you might remember that he did not take part in the WC3L. The lag back then was too much for him to bear. While SK’s roster was really huge at that time it is quite small today. And let’s face it: Without MaDFroG the WC3-squad could hardly continue to play in this league. He is not only extremely important for 1on1 but also for 2on2 and is able to outshine every other player in both.Season outlook:Things are not looking too good for SK at the moment. With HeMaN, MaDFroG and Zacard going to Korea to attend the World Esports Games there might be a problem to get enough players to play in WC3L. Furthermore FaTC tends to be inactive and DominatoR isn't playing too much lately, too. So the players probably cannot afford to let the rest of the roster play for them.Another thing that comes to the observer's concern are the 2on2-teams. While they never really were a strength of SK, at least MaDFroG and SuRviVoR did a good job during the last season. But now that they will be splitted up for the most time of the regular season and HeMaN & Wizard isn't an option anymore, too, team-manager KidArctica has to find a new resolution for this misery. DominatoR and Insomnia might be an option and also seem to have played a couple of ladder-games together. HeMaN & MaDFroG could be the other option since both would be in Korea and there are no language-barriers between the two Swedes. Another player to look out for will be HoT. He excessively played ladder lately and should definitely be in shape. But is he good enough to compete on WC3L's best level? Maybe he will get his chance during this season and prove his worth. There are two options for SK in this season. The first would be playing WC3L without MaDFroG, HeMaN and Zacard and probably passing out of the league. The second would be that they all play, even when they encounter a lot of lag and have to play at bad times. They would have to restructure their 2on2-teams and then should be able to do as good as last season - if not better. The coach's view: What do you expect from the new season?KidArctica: I expect a lot of exciting clan wars. Wich clans will reach the playoffs? KidArctica: It is hard to say, several clans have been strengthened. I think it will be hard for the new teams to make it to the playoff, though. 4Kings should be a given, and hopefully we will be there as well. Other than that, both mTw, 64AMD and MYM have added to their rosters. Mouz got trouble in the last playoff, but they have very good team spirit that will help them. I think it will be close. Who will get the title? KidArctica: As I see it right now, 4Kings is the favourite to take the title this season. How did you strengthen your roster during the christmas-break? KidArctica: I am sure you know that Wizard's contract just expired, and he chose to leave the team. Other than that, we haven't made any changes.
