WC3L Season 7 Preview: Team United5

|
From this day on we will introduce you to two teams of the seventh WC3L-season per day. The start will be made by ![]() This team was formerly known as Good Game League (GGL) and already took part in season 6’s qualification. While they failed closely in last summer they managed to do better this time. This brought them the opportunity to team up with one of America’s biggest multigaming-clans: Team United5. With sponsors like nVidia and Asus and a reduced roster the team took a big step towards more professionalism. Projected Lineup:Backup: Man on the spot: lnclnerator Over the past months quite a lot of players were playing solos for GGL. But only one name seems to be really persistent: lnclnerator. The American constantly played and scored while players like qazzi shuttled between top form and inactivity. Now the Orc-user has to be the key-player in the 1on1-fraction and even more lead his players to victory. If he manages to overcome his nervousness he might win a couple of matches for his team and further more encourage his mates Sabre and Tazz.Season outlook:The latest happenings look really promising for u5. Teaming up with such a great clan as u5 and sticking together as a squad for several months are perfect foundations to build and expand a successful team.Still, they will have to show how strong they really are compared to the world’s elite like 4K or SK Gaming. They had to take the long way through the loser-bracket of the qualification – we will see if they can keep up with the other clans with their current lineup. A couple of players have to fight against their inactivity. While the once formidable duo of Newbiee and Legato is out of training at the moment and probably won’t be back on track during the first half of the season, there is also a devastating sickness rageing in the team: The World of Warcraft-fever infected quite a lot of their players and eats important practice-time. On the other hand Sabre and Tazz turned out to be reliable soloists. Backed up with ViVi and maybe Seaweed there is quite a lot of potential in their roster. The newly formed Tazz & Sabre-2on2 proved to be a good replacement for Newbiee & Legato so there shouldn't be too much to worry about for the American team. The Playoffs will be probably out of reach for u5. But reaching a good place in the clanranking’s midfield should be possible for them. The coach's view:What do you expect from the new season? bunny: I expect us to do well in our first season of the WC3L and would love it if we made it to the playoffs. It will be tough though because the competition is good, but hopefully we'll gain some nice experience from this. Wich clans will reach the playoffs? Who will get the title? bunny: My prediction on the clans that will make it to the playoffs are 4K, mTw, 64AMD, SK, MYM, and mouz. My bet is that Four Kings will take the victory this season with their players in such good shape, and for second place it will be very close but mTw will surprise us all. How did you strengthen your roster during the christmas-break? bunny: There have been no changes to our roster since the qualifiers. Even though it would be nice to get some stronger players added to the clan, I think we'll be okay. Our solo players just need to focus and practice more often. We are a bit weak in solo compared to our 2v2. Why did you join up with u5? bunny: When the opportunity came about for us to join United 5, there was no quesiton why we shouldn't. They are a top multi-gaming organization in the US and they have some really great sponsors and support. This was something that GGL was missing. Joining up with u5 will open many doors for us and hopefully allow us to grow and become a more professional Warcraft 3 team. How does it feel like to be the first female WC3L player ever, especially as you won your game? bunny: I still think it was crazy that I had to play in one of the matches for the WC3L qualifiers. I wasn't expecting it because I had been shoutcasting all of the matches. We didn't have any choice though, because there was no one else on the roster who could play and Qazzi didn't show up. It was exciting and fun and it never really occurred to me that I was making history. I don't categorize myself differently from the guys just because I'm a female gamer. So, being the first female to play in the WC3L doesn't mean anything to me... however, actually winning the match was a much greater accomplishment.
