WC3L Season 7 Finals: 64AMD
The WC3L Season 7 Finals are about to start and we are using the short idle time for a couple of previews as we already presented them in the beginning of the season. Here you can learn something about the current WC3L champion: Team 64AMD.

[64AMD]SaSe
[64AMD]Creolophus
[64AMD]Caravaggio (unsure)

Regular season progress:

9 Wins, 2 Losses, 36 Points
The season started as worst as possible for the champions. On the first playday 4Kings.Intel wanted to show that they were definitely missing in the last offline-finals and beat them with 0:5. While Deadman was playing less due to WeG and Caravaggio tended to be inactive the team urgently needed new players.

They acquired the Norwegian superstar Creolophus who formed a formidable 2on2-team with their up and rising soloist WinneR. Things brightened up a lot and a winning-streak of five matches was obtained.

Then another event shocked the team: Team-manager Enrique left 64AMD to help out at SK Gaming together with his fellow Russian Deadman. The streak was ended by Team Ownage on playday seven with a 2:3-loss.

But now the time had come for a so far low-key player to step up and shine: ElakeDuck. He managed to lead the team in both 1on1 and 2on2 and ensured the team to finish third without losing any other match.

The MVP: Björn "ElakeDuck" Ödman

ElakeDuck14 Wins, 4 Losses (31:16 Maps)
I have to admit: I underestimated ElakeDuck in the beginning of the season. In my preview four months ago I listed him as a backup-soloist (which he was during the first playdays). But he managed to become one of Europe's best orcs and led his team in every match by winning one 1on1 and one 2on2 together with his ally SaSe. He scored 14 of his team's 36 points and therefore has to be called the most valuable player. 64AMD would not attend the finals without his great effort.

Finals outlook:

After beating mTw clearly in the first playoff-round things are looking quite good for the current champions. Deadman left a huge gap in their roster without a doubt and so did the departure of Enrique hurt the team. But both WinneR and ElakeDuck hunger for wins and can overpower every other player in this league. The 2on2-teams fit perfectly together and should be their strength in this tournament.

The coach's view:

triMbleHow did this regular season go for you?
[64AMD]triMble: This season went very good for us in general, though the 0-5 loss versus 4Kings on the first playday was the worst start we could get. Same goes for the loss versus Team Ownage. But overall, you can say that this season was very good and we were able to finish it just one point behind Team MYM.Hanbit, which shows that we have proven to be one of the strongest teams in the WC3L.

Your team went through ups and downs and your lineup changed a lot during this season. Do you think that could hinder you now that you have to fight only the best?
[64AMD]triMble: I wouldn't say we had that many ups and downs. Well yes, we had some player-problems to solve. Like our best 1on1 player from last season, with name Caravaggio, went inactive cause of studies and his girlfriend. Same goes for Crimson. And then we had the departure of Deadman and Enrique to SK. On the other hand, we recruited Creo, who has grown to one of the best Nightelf players in Europe nowadays. And we added WinneR to the roster, one of the best, if not the best Undead player in Europe. I think that the team is a very solid unit now, and we don't have to fear anybody in these finals.

If you don't have to fear any team - what are your expectations for the finals?
[64AMD]triMble: Well, some people will say that we got a special pressure on us since we are the defending champions. But we will travel to Cologne to have some fun, to play nice games and to meet nice people. I think that we should go for a top 3 position at least, if not better. However, we will place somewhere between rank 1 and 4.

Who do you think is the most valuable player of this season?
[64AMD]triMble: That's a very hard question since this seaon brought us some very nice players. As always you can name the good old stars like Grubby and ToD, but on the other hand I think that ElakeDuck and especially WinneR had their big breakthrough this season.
