This information article will take you through everything you need to know about the upcoming season of WCIP starting from the very beginning. I advise you read extra carefully because it does contain a lot of important information.

League Structure and Format

WCIP Season V will contain the following stages:
Qualifiers
Groupstag
Playdowns
Playoffs

->All matches in WCIP Season V will be Best 2 out of 3 format in classic WC3L Style play. This means there will be 4 1on1 matches followed by 1 2on2 match for a total of 5 matches.

Qualifiers and Playoffs of this season will similar to the last season. Groupstage is where you will see the most change.

2on2 Map Pool:

Qualifiers

->32 teams will be selected to compete in a double elimination style bracket.
->The teams that were eliminated from the previous season of WCIP will have the highest seed.
->**First round of qualification tournament is Single Elimination. This means you must win the first round to remain in the tournament. Every other round after wards (Round 2 and up) will be Double Elimination.**
->Tournament will be one round per week until there are 8 top teams.
->The top 4 teams of the Winner Bracket side and top 4 of Loser Bracket side of the tournament bracket will qualify for WCIP Season V group stage.

Groupstage

->8 Teams from qualification will meet up with 8 from the previous season of WCIP to make a total of 16 teams within WCIP.
->The 16 teams will be divided into two groups of 8 teams. Each group will be balanced to the best of our ability to assure that one group is not harder than the other.
->The teams will battle for a total of 7 Playdays obtaining as many points as possible per clan war.

Playdowns

->At the end of 7 playdays and the final rankings are published, the team ranked last place in Group A, and the team ranked last place in Group B will automatically be dropped from WCIP and have to re-qualify.
->The teams ranked 6th and 7th place of Group A, and the teams ranked 6th and 7th place of Group B will battle in a 4 team single elimination bracket. The two teams that lose will be dropped from WCIP and will have to re-qualify.
Example:
TeamA(ranked 6th) vs. TeamB(ranked 7th)
TeamA(ranked 7th) vs. TeamB(ranked 6th)

Playoffs

-> At the end of 7 Playdays, the team ranked 1st place in Group A and the team ranked 1st place in Group B will advance to the playoff bracket, and receive a bye to round 2.
->The teams ranked 2nd and 3rd place of Group A, and the teams ranked 2nd and 3rd place of Group B will battle in the round 1 of the playoffs tournament, and it will be Single Elimination.
->The two teams that win will advance to round 2 and carry on the tournament in Double Elimination, while the the two teams that lost will be eliminated from playoffs.
Example:
TeamA(ranked 2nd) vs. TeamB(ranked 3rd)
TeamA(ranked 3rd) vs. TeamB(ranked 2nd)
->Rest of tournament bracket is played out until a champion of WCIP Season V is crowned.
