What punishments are there?
All often reported players will get VS. bans, the lenght of the ban, depends on the amount of reports and/or how many bans the player already had before. The lenghts of bans can be between one day and a whole season, for excessive abuse even a lifetime ban is possible.
Another punishment is stats reset, the complete reset of all VERSUS stats from a season, no matter how many games were played. This punishment is normally given to players who play a large amount of games without Wire Anti-Cheat or shut down their WAC during a game. Of course the same ruling applies to users who create fakematches.
To prevent players from playing without Wire Anti-Cheat we released another feature, so everybody without WAC gets minus 30 points in each VERSUS game. You can find more details about it in
this news.
Reported Players during BETA Season
During the BETA Season a total of
131 Players received a stats reset in several or all games they played.
Reason? Easy, they all played with out WAC or created fakematches!
256 Players were banned temporarily, at least once, from the VERSUS System, because they were reported from several other VERSUS users.
So please also use the reporting function, it helps to get rid of unfair players and improves your gaming experience!
Reported Players during Warmup Season
The current season started barely a month ago and already
150 players created fakematches to push their stats. Those players received an early Christmas present from us, by wipeing their accounts clean.
Until now (22nd December) over
309 players were banned from the Warmup Season.
Versus Matches and Vetos
Of all VERSUS matches so far there were
5065 accepted Vetos and
1960 rejected Vetos, making it a total of
7025 Vetos since the release of the Veto function. Everyweek we add new admins to improve the response time of Vetos, our aim is to have a response time within a few hours after every Veto is send in.
What will 2012 bring for VERSUS?
Before the year ends we want to give you a small preview of what we are planning for 2012. In first couple months of the year we plan to release a few features that will make the VERSUS experience a lot more enjoyable and will make it harder for "killers" to destroy other peoples fun.
So we are planning a couple features to get rid of unfair players (cheaters, fakers, unmannered etc.) even faster than at the moment and also to punish them more harshly when they deserve it. For those features we are collecting data since a couple of weeks and it will be one of our top priorities for the start of the year. We especially want to give you, the user, more feedback and more power to directly report and ban players that destroy your fun.
We are also working hard on improving ESL Wire Anti-Cheat and you will see some changes and release next year for it too. Especially the VERSUS integration will be improved and we are going to punish people who avoid our Anti-Cheat system faster.
Our aim is to have a fair enviroment for all players to enjoy!
We wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy 2012, enjoy the holidays and play games!

Last time there was a guy using Wallhack + aimbot.. i reported him and nothing really happened.. he is still on esl.
