First matchweek highlights
First matchweek was meant to be the most unbalanced of them all.

Some teams got it easier then others due to the complete auto-challenger randomness.
From now on, as weeks will progress, teams will start getting grouped by their ratings, and all these enourmous skill differences that resulted in some murder by high numbers for the highest skilled teams will tend to vanish.

Let's take a closer look on first match week highlights:

Fox vs IMD
Luck wasn’t definitely on IMD side for first matchweek raffle, where they probably drawn the biggest boogieman available.
After winning both CTF (capture the flag) and TS (teamsurvivor) cups back in clanbase, the team (FOX) dismembered a little bit and saw some of its valuable players make way to other top clans, probably one of the reasons why FOX (known as QA on the previous season) fell a bit short of their abilities.
For this season they brought back some of the players that made them the absolute powerhouse (Razer), and borrowed avenger from paranoids, who is arguably fox’s lethal weapon.

FOX picked turnpike (did they know they can only pick turnpike once?)
Clans map choice makes me think that both teams are unaware that they can only pick a map once, despite the several warnings on the news posts and same on rules.
This said, and knowing that FOX borrowed their fast pace metro style from their CTF (capture the flag background), outcome of turnpike was expected,

IMD maybe in an attempt to pick somehow a more tactical map in order to control FOX chose casa as their home map.
And….it sort of work, truth been said, FOX scored seven rounds less, which probably cost them the first place this match week.

Good luck for both teams for the rest of the season.

DB vs *Joe
Like in any game, team stability is generally always rewarded, Urban Terror isn’t an exception, much on the contrary to be honest, 5 v 5 Team survivor isn’t just about having 5 aim mammoths slay the opponent anymore, now to be successful you need to aim perfect, have very good team play and coordination (and unhit).
Jihad Joe fit precisely the team that isn’t the best at the moment but they may very well become “IT” soon enough.
Their squad is more or less beta 4.0 but they rely on Revi, a very experienced old-school player to command the troops.
DB on the other hand presented a more or less solid team last clan base open cup and saw two of their best members (Riised and Magnesium) leave to FOX, even so, DB is still a force to be reckoned relying generally on very old school player to do the trick.
Most of Jihad players started their UrT when the game was already super fast paced (walljumps and slides for 4.0), so they may have an edge when it comes to faster maps.
Austria was a tight win for *Joe

hg` vs on.air
Looked like business as usual for hg, dispatching on-air comfortably. With solid performances from zizou and zlatan in the nations cup against France, we know they can play ts just as well as CTF. With this team haagenti are capable of some big upsets in the coming weeks.

I think Sanc is haagenti’s new favourite map :]

On-air showed they can play abbey very well only loosing by 6 rounds, definitely a stronger map for them to use in the following weeks. Nice job by s@garro.

Thank you tmb for your nice screens, your computer must be top notch.

Victory vs SC
Sexy Chicks had it rough on their first match week, playing the podium contenders Victory.
Victory presents itself much stronger then on our previous season, left from the previous season are only dMk and reako.
Taking advantage of the fact that many top clans are inactive, they picked up some big names on the scene to help the clan assault the podium one more time.
New this season is dMx co-leading with dMk, we all know he is individually a very clever player,
but his bigger challenge relies on transforming a ringer team like Victory in a award winning one.
It was an unequal battle, Victory had their 5th coming late so they started of their with 4 players (something allowed in the rulebook).
=SC= picked elgin in an attempt to surprise Victory which they almost managed, the map was tied until 5 minutes from end.
=SC= relied on rushing one side and take advantage of their plus one to wipe Victory out, but Victory successfully supressed it by taking long range shots and picking SC off one by one.
The outcome could have been heavier for SC if victory 5th wouldn't be missing.

Since SC was acessible opponent, Victory took their changes this time with 5 players on server.
Was a wise choice since this map is widely known by old players and not so much by 4.0 generations like SC.
Victory took this one easily, and could have been worse for SC if both frage and Dark_sattis wouldn't be so inspired.

ESCN vs GF
ESCN used to be a top clan that ended up falling appart due to it's unstable members and had to revamp it's entire squad.
Since then, ESCN relies on a policy to "hire" individually skilled players that never end up beeing a real team due to the lack of practice clan wars and such.
Will ESCN individual talent be enough to take them far this cup?

Turnpike was a one way game for ESCN

It was quite a motivating debut for ESCN.

opp vs 2s2h
Opression have a though job this season as the current title holders.

After last season win, oppression presents itself without NiZmO and eLLu, and after a long period of inactivity.

With clanleader n3m3sis missing from the 2s2h lineup, they seemed to struggle from the start. Elgin turned out to be a fun map and Austria was a lot closer then it seemed with some good rushes from 2s2h. Despite the skill difference 2s2h seemed to have fun and enjoy the challenge. Stand out performance from roger.

SNL vs AESIR

Aesir set the benchmark with the highest winning margin showing they are here to play ball. This time around at ESL, aesir have a fully stacked team or skillful players and will confident about their chances to win.
AESIR was already menacing to become a great teamsurvivor clan for the last couple of years, somehow they always fell short of their abilities....until GreaTeye took charge of this relatively old and persistent polish bunch, the clan started gaining some momentum and doing some damage here and there which eventually resulted in the last season win and consequent third place at Clanbase Open Cup defeating the likes of puff**, one of the powerhouses left on UrT.
They got a relatively relaxed first week, taking on SNL and steamrolling them without much distress.
Mandolin was AESIR choice,

Astonishing high numbers for AESIR making sanctuary, a closed bomb map look like dressing room,
