The Final: NWT vs. eLight

Whenever a tournament ends there is a great final to be expected and this one was no exception.

The match started with the 2on2, where Zik and holla fought against Robo Jkith and Norrock. There was an unusal amount of draws in this match, which ended in NWT's favour with a score of 5 to 2.

The second submatch was the 1on1. The heavy hitters Gswe81 and mc.joey fighting closely every round. Eventually Joey managed to win against Gswe81's consistency, through his better speed.

The 3on3 proved to be dramatic, when NWT took the lead with 4-2 after 6 rounds played. eLight made a last stand and equalized the score to 4-4. After one hour of hard fighting, the decisive round had to be played. A strong round for NWT secured their victory in the DPS1.

Thanks to both teams for an awesome final!

The 3rd Place: Dragons Legends vs. Fanatics

This match started with the 1on1, in which a motivated SPEEDUNEED showed, that he really wanted to win this submatch. 7 to 1 was a clear win against Darkness, who showed good skill but less consistency.

The Fanatics streak continued in the 2on2, when Jahn8 and MtN took down Master and Sbliffo with the score 5 to 1.

Finally in the 3on3, it looked like Fanatics were going to end the match with the score 4-1. But the Dragons summoned their italian power and equalized the score to 4-4. Eventually the Fanatics managed to win the last round and gain the 3rd place.

Congratulations to Fanatics and DL for this great match.

Conclusions of DPS Season 1

Many teams registered for the qualification and many very good maps have been created on a short notice. In this first season, we had to enter unknown territory, test different maps, match setups, etc.. Alltogether it was a nice experience, that will help us to make an even better DPS Season 2 in a not to distant future ;)

Refreshing the ESL Dirt Section!

Now we will focus on many different things. The existing 1on1 and 2on2 ladders need our attention, as well as possible new ladders/cups. We need tracks and an adequate room for Dirt mappers within the ESL.
