Trackmania Country Championship 2010
For the first time the Electronic Sports League is able to announce a Country Championship in Trackmania. We will have the full international action on Dirt, Speed and Tech maps coming up soon!

Trackmania within the ESL is gathering high level competitions for some time: The Trackmania Premierships, the ESL Major Series and several ESL Pro Series. Beside some smaller cups, ladders and leagues the Trackmania Premierships are producing the biggest activity within our section. The diversity in the Premierships lately reached the highest level featuring Competition, Speed and Dirt!
Now a new competition will come up: diversity, professionality and activity will be gathered in only one signle event: the Trackmania Country Championship!

More Details will be announced very soon. But the most important thing needed at the moment are teamcaptains for all countrys. As soon as a guy became a teams captain he is responsible for this country! He should take care that the team will be there on time and with all players needed.

How to become a country's team captain:

All you need to do is write an application to our admin team.
Here is what it should contain:
  • Full name (nickname and realname) - e.g.: Alexander 'DeathDriver' Ratai
  • Age - e.g.: 21 years old
  • Country - e.g.: Germany
  • Reputation - What qualifys you?
  • Motivation - Why do you want to do this?
Please be as detailed as possible!
Having a team captain is equal to a signup! We will add the country to the league.

Apply as a Team Captain!

The team captains will be choosen until the 10th of March! The first Playday of the Country Championship 2010 will be on the 28th of March! Gather your team!!

great idea ;)

gogo
nice =)
interesting. this will make the 3 different subdivisions come closer i suppose. tho i'm not sure i agree with this way of having tournaments. it reminds me of triathlon, and if the goal is that this should become the standard, in both team and solo tournaments, i don't think it's the right way to go. there's a reason running swimming and cycling are bigger on their own than the 3 all together. if the goal is to make tmnf a respectable game in esport, i think it's better to focus on just 1 thing mainly. sure you can have tournaments on the side, and this tournament could be fun. an interesting mix between the 3 ways of playing. but i remain sceptical if this is an aim to change the standard of how tmnf should be played in esport.

nice, gogo ger =)
So one country have to play all ? speed tech and dirt ??
cool idea :D
like dlm in big :D
agree frostbeule^^
hope the ESL won´t limit the amount of players to less than 13-16 per section otherwise there will be some big problems with creating a lineup .
cause it would be nonsense to have a "Team Germany" with 15 players divided in 5 Dirt / 5 Speed and 5 Tech -players ( just an example ) =) .
will there be a country championship in dirt, another one on speed and another one on tech ? or is it ONE championship on all 3 styles ?
all in one -.-
All in one indeed. I guess 1 map per style every match...?
ye.. good comparism to the enc.. there they play in cs for example also on de_ map one aim_map and one awp_map.
OH NO, im wrong.. their every team chooses one map of the de_mappack and play it. why do u do this in trackmania and let all 3 types be played? ..
Korre is correct ;)
@Extas: There will be a limit! At the moment I am aiming for 20. Do you think that would be ok?
nice :> gogogo ger :)
Nice idea in my opinion...
...4 players for each style = 12 so i think a limit of 20 or 24 (12*2) or 21 (7*3) would be ok. Because so they have to choose which of the style got less players (example 7+7+6 = 20).

What about tracks?

very nice idea. :) .. :>
nice idea : )
yep 20 is good
Unfortunately Polish players are very sceptical about this idea.
Definetely Nations Cup by ET-leagues is more popular, plus the year-calendar of the tournaments is too much fullfilled anyway.

But, we will see what life can bring :)
Yop all ;)

It seems to be a great idea but maybe 20 players will be a little just. The match is on 4vs4 so you have to think in each section (dirt, road, speed) to have doble players needed (so much about 24), to let the players take a breathe because there will be a lot of competition. Or Maybe for training it will be the same maps than in PremierShip Dirt, Road and Speed...

Let us know ;)

@Frostbeule: I understand your point for usual ladders and cups. But for a nations cup it is much more interesting, because the teams are bound to nations. Also it is not completely different games we play, since all 3 styles rely on stadium. This offers a wide variety of possibilites that can make tmnf much more interesting. Multi-style players, teammates from different countries play against each other and the shared fanbase from which all styles should profit.
well i'm little sad... as long i'm able to collect drivers on dirt for Poland the road and speed guys are not much interested in this competition :S i'm writing on Polish forum but the answers there are not very positive :)
we will see how it will go :)
if we won't participate i wish all teams gl and hf :)
cheers
Skopol, I can help you with it - message me via pm :)
exactly what fb said, comp only
I don't think this kind of competition was intended for replacing the comp-only tournaments - It's just additional. Hopefully this will lead to friendlier contact and more respect between the three environments.
