(A ping between 100 - 130 is a advantage for scouts, the 4kings scouts will just have to tweak cl_interp a bit)

This is not meant as a Pandemic hate post, just a general thing about the time difference and ping situation.
There is nothing wrong with having a Worldwide competition, if the rules and, most importantly, the system itself is up for it. That means, clear rules on how to deal with the Server stuff (1 map US 1 map EU server), clear rules on the timeline (matches always on sunday 21h cet) and so on.
But, the EMS is designed for a European competition and should therefore stay within its barriers. You have no clear ruleset on how to deal with the server (why not just force the American team to play on a uk based server?) or the timeline (American teams can only play on Sundays).
The reason why this EMS dragged out over such a long period is surely not the fault of the Americans, but only being able to play on a Sunday certainly doesn't help speeding things up again, once you suffer from a heavy delay.
Look at all the bullshit the Ping issue alone caused us. Server issues, Flames and Whines ingame, Coverage "boycotts" and last but not least, the heavy flames and arguments on various board, forums and SourceTV matches.
Seriously. What for? If an American team wants to participate in an European competition to score some bucks, then they should play by the rules and obey them. And, the League hosting this event should have a fixed ruleset prepared + must be able to make fast decisions if shit hits the fan.
But, when I see matches get delayed because of "Ping-Server-Issues" only the American team has on a certain neutral UK based server, constant ping whines in preceding matches and having to put up with the "American pride" and arguments on SourceTV - I am literally about to puke.
Seriously ESL, what for? We have enough good competition in Europe as it is.

In my opinion the fault was not only at Pandemics but also a bit at Four-Kings and me.
Pandemic did not wanted to play on 4k server cause they have better pings on other european servers. There was not one second in which Pandemic mentioned to play on a american server, so please stop the "european competition, european server"-argue. So i think it is quite understandable that Pandemic tried to play on another european servers to guarantee good pings for BOTH teams. By the way: Pandemic was one of the teams which made nearly no problems the entire tournament.
Yesterday evening was the first time i heard that Pandemic told Four-Kings one week ago to play on another server - nobody said this to me. But when i asked Four-Kings about the server they told me streight that final will be on their server - so this might have been a misunderstanding, but in the end there were important information which did not reached me.
I can easily understand QuadV's decision to quit the coverage after they waited for over an hour. Just want to sign Demans last words befor shutting down.
Anyway i want to say that we still had an active cast running (thanks for Pwnage.TV for this) and there were around 600-700 people watching the match on SourceTV servers. All in all still some good numbers for the bad beginning.
The second part of this final will hopefully take place next sunday .. this time with full coverage and a better schedule.
