Rules Changed
We have improved rules for all SWAT 4 leagues. We hope it will help you. Changes are very wide. Do not afraid and read them.

9. SWAT 4 – General Information

The rules mentioned under point 9 are generally valid for all SWAT 4 ladders. Exceptions for the different ladders/amateur series/cups can be found under point 10.
9.1. Conditions of participation
In order to sign up for the SWAT 4 ladders you have to fulfil the following requirements:
9.1.1. Players
Entering sufficient contact details (ICQ/IRC/XFIRE) and a UAC-ID is mandatory.
9.1.2. UAC-ID
Any player who wants to play ladder matches must have entered a valid UAC-ID in his account.
This UAC-ID has to be entered via the Command Center (My Account – Gameaccounts).

In order to find your UAC-ID:

1) Download latest version of UAC:

2) Run application and create account by using "Let's play" -> "Register" buttons.
3) Verify your account by clicking link you will get in e-mail.
4) You UAC-ID will be showed after login here http://uac4swat.net/id.php

It is not enough to list the UAC-IDs in the team description!
9.2. Game preparations
Please resolve any problems that might occur before the match starts. Agreements between the teams/players have to be posted as match comments.
9.2.1. Choice of server
Each team has the right to play one half of the match on their server. You can only make use of this right as long as the second half of the match has not started and if the alternative server fulfils the requirements as mentioned in the set of rules.
If both teams have a server, the first half of the match will be played on the server of the team listed on the left side of the match details.
9.2.2. Nicknames compulsory
Each player has to use a nickname that is at least very similar to the nickname he/she entered in his/her ESL player sheet. You are not allowed to change your nickname during the match. In team matches the players are allowed to use a clan tag which has to be the same for all players of the team. Filing a protest or writing a support ticket due to wrong nicknames is not possible.
If an admin cannot do his job properly because of wrong nicknames, the players concerned will get penalty points.
9.2.3. Agreements
In case of agreements you always have to fulfil the requirements as mentioned under point 8.
The following settings can be changed if one party requests it:
- none

The following settings can be changed if both parties agree on it:
- Map changes once the map has been set
- Quick round reset
- Friendly fire
- Show enemy names
- Show teammate names
- Ping rules
9.2.4. Server & Map Check
During the warm up the teams have to check whether the server settings are correct, whether the map has been loaded properly and whether the server uses the right maps (ESL Mappack).

Before the match starts both teams have to say clearly that they are ready.
9.2.4.1. Pings
If during the warm up different between pings of players of both team with the lowest pings is higher then 60 the match should be continued on an other server.
The server mustn't be changed after the match has started.
If both teams agree the server don't have to fulfil this requirement.
9.3. Settings
9.3.1. Server Settings
Config files with the settings for all ladders can be found in the eslconfig.zip file which is available for download. It also contains a readme file.

The team that provides the server is responsible for the server and the settings. In case of a server manipulation the team will be held accountable. In case of team matches this mean that any player on the server can be held accountable.
9.3.1.1. Server Mods
AdminMOD and Antics are illegal.
9.3.2. Maps
ESL's Mappack will be mandatory soon.
9.3.3. Custom Files
Custom files (except User.ini) are illegal.
Changing models, crosshairs, the HUD, the scoreboard or any other files is illegal.
9.3.4. Programs
Changing the graphic options or textures with the help of graphic card drivers or similar tools or programs is illegal.
Programs that do not have any influence on the game are allowed (voice programs, server administration tools). Any other programs are illegal (e.g. cheats).
Programs for video recording are allowed (for example FRAPS). Videos recorded with this programmes can be used as a proof of cheating.
9.3.5. UAC
UAC (Universal Anti Cheat) is the anticheat program, which is also used to check the client settings. Using the latest UAC version during the entire match is mandatory.
If you are not able to run UAC properly, you are not allowed to participate in an ESL match. In case of problems you have to postpone the match (if necessary by filing a protest).
9.4. Ingame
9.4.1. Choice of team
Team on left side of match detail page plays first half as SWAT and second as Suspects.

Failure to choose right side leads to give the team 1 penalty point.
9.4.2. Number of players
Minimum number of players:
2on2: 1on2 is forbidden, only 2on2 is allowed
3on3: Only 3on3 is allowed
5on5: 4on4, 4on5 and 5on5 is allowed
If one player in a 5on5 team is missing, the team can nevertheless play the match. The opposing team can decide freely whether they want to play with all players or also with one player less.
9.4.3. Player drops
If one or more players disconnect from server as result of e.g. critical error in first minute of round - round must be repeated (full round reset). If player disconnect after first minute round should be continued.
9.4.4. Matches between team mates
Matches between members of the same clan within a ladder are illegal.

Exception:
Matches generated by the autochallenger are legal.

Team mates are players who actively play together in a team (ladder and cup matches) or players who have recently played together.
9.5. Match Media
In general match media have to be uploaded to the ESL website in the period of time stated in the rules. Faking or manipulating match media is of course forbidden and will result in severe penalties.
Packing the files is allowed. Match media names for screenshots, etc. have to be chosen in a reasonable way. The name has to be chosen in accordance with the media's content so that it is clearly recognizable whether the file concerned is a movie, a round screenshot or a uac screenshot etc.
Filing a protest or writing a support ticket due to wrong media names is not possible.
If an admin cannot do his job properly because of wrong media names, the players concerned will get penalty points.
Match media are to be kept for at least 14 days.
Nevertheless only participants of the match concerned are allowed to write a support ticket. Tickets written by third parties will be rejected.
9.5.1. Screenshots
Taking screenshots of the scoreboard after each side and map is mandatory for both teams.
9.5.2. UAC files
Uploading the UAC files within 24 hours after the match is mandatory. Any manipulated or incomplete UAC files will be rate as missing file.

Should this be not done you must open a protest ticket after the 24 hours and within 72 hours after a match, then they will get another time period of 24 hours to upload the demos (This subsequently time of 24 hours starts when the protest is opened - after 24 hours and within 72 hours after a match).

If you miss to upload your UAC files in the subsequently period, the match will be deleted and you will receive three penalty points. But if you upload the files in the subsequently period, you will only get one penalty point and the match will not deleted.
9.6. Illegal Actions
Any actions that result in an unfair advantage are illegal. This includes bug using of any kind and the following actions.
If you do have questions about legal/illegal positions, please write a support ticket (subject: Map bugs).
9.6.1. Mapbugs
Staying in places which makes you able to shot, but you can't be killed and/or visible is forbidden.
9.7. Penalties
9.7.1. Missing Match Media
9.7.1.1. Missing Match Media
If a player fails to upload his UAC files within 24 hours after the match, he will get 3 penalty points, the team 2 per missing UAC file and the match is deleted. If the player uploads the file subsequently within 24 hours the penalty points will be reduced to 1 and the match will not be deleted.
9.7.1.2. Screenshots
Shouldn't there be the right amount of screenshots to prove the result of a match, the match can be deleted. Both parties get 1 penalty point. Should screenshots be uploaded after the penalisation the match can be recovered and the penalty points will be removed.
9.7.2. Settings
The settings as described under 9.3 Settings are mandatory.
1on1 matches will be deleted if a player uses more than one wrong client setting, an illegal script that results in an unfair advantage or if he uses several illegal scripts.
Team matches will be deleted, if more than one player uses wrong client settings or illegal scripts.
The team gets 2 penalty points.
9.7.2.1. Custom Files
Using custom files of any kind is illegal. The team gets 2 penalty points, the player gets 3. An admin will decide whether the match is deleted or not.
9.7.3. Cheating
Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated.
9.7.3.1. Bug-using
The intentional use of bugs of any kind is illegal and results in 2 penalty points each time the bug is intentionally used (maximum: 6 penalty points), if the round is won.
If the rounds is lost, the player only gets an official warning. An admin may decide to repeat the match partially, if the bug-using lead to a game deciding point.
9.7.3.2. Cheating
Cheats of first category are all kinds of multihacks, wallhacks, norecoil, aimbots and others. The teams get 6 penalty points, the player 12 plus a two year ESL ban.
9.7.3.3. Bypassing UAC
The use of programs (or "hacks") to circumvent, modify or in any way manipulate UAC is forbidden.

Any use of such programs will be penalized within the rule 7.8. Cheating. Even testing of such programs in a match not happening within the ESL will be prosecuted.
9.8. Unsportsmanlike behaviour
9.8.1. Player kicks during a match
Player kick is allowed only when he has critical error.
