One of the biggest challenges of Online Gaming is the Internet’s anonymity. Making a new account is way too simple. People with low self-esteem tend to create a new identity rather than accept their weaknesses and defeats. Therefore we have to link people's real identity to their ESL account. For this reason the Trusted ESL Playercard was established on the 1st of October 2005. Users receive their Trusted ESL Playercard and a verification key via mail. He verifies his playercard online. This process allows each person to sign up at ESL only once.
In the upper left corner of the website you can see your profile picture. This is where you can open your player menu. Click on “Trust Level”. From here it is only a few steps to get your new ESL Playercard. First you enter some data (name, last name, nickname, address, photo, date of birth). This is only visible to certain employees of Turtle Entertainment GmbH – not ESL admins. Your data is checked carefully and if successful you will be informed and can make payment. After you have submitted €8,95 for your new Playercard, it will be printed and sent to you. Usually it takes about 5-6 business days to receive your card.
On April 8th 2010 the ESL Playercard's cost was increased to €8,95. This was the first increase in the Playercard's history, since 2005. The raise was necessary due to increased costs and inflation. As we wanted to continue to provide an attractive offer, the Playercard's validity was extended from two to three years. When this time is over, our users can prolong our service by purchasing a new playercard. We regularly create new card designs which our users may choose from.
Your personal data is saved with your account, and is deleted when if your account is deleted. Only Turtle Entertainment GmbH employees can see your personal data – not ESL admins. The data is required to be able to compare against other accounts or to reactivate them. If your account is ever hacked then the saved data will be the only way to give the account back to its original owner.
You are not able to change the data after you have ordered the Playercard. You can change your home address when ordering a new Playercard. We do not expect our users to order a new Playercard the moment when movingh ome. You are of course allowed to keep your old Playercard and renew it later. If you still want to change your home address earlier, you can send us your new address by opening a support ticket to the Playercard squad. A copy of your ID card is needed or a similar official document that shows your address.
Once the new Trusted Pro Level has been established, Level 1-4 will be merged into one level. This level will be called Trusted. We will give more information on this topic soon.
In cooperation with Deutsche Post we are offering you the safest level of verification we have ever had in ESL. For Trusted Pro a free E-POSTBRIEF address is required (German residents only). Once you have it, the Post-Ident Service will be enabled. Thanks to this relationship with Deutsche Post, it will become almost impossible for users to fake their identity.
All owners of a valid E-POSTBRIEF address can order Trusted Pro in only a few steps. Unlike in the past, you do not need to already have Trusted Status when you place your order. You can directly order Trusted Pro. Once you have placed your order, you will receive your exclusive Trusted Pro Card.
Due to our cooperation with the E-POSTBRIEF of Deutsche Post, Trusted Pro will be cheaper than the old Trusted Playercard. Deutsche Post grants €2 to every Trusted Pro customer! Since the E-Postbrief is digital, it only takes a few business days to become Trusted Pro. When your Trusted Pro expires it can be easily extended for another year. This will only cost a small service fee of €1,95.

To get this level you must to send us a copy of your ID card. After we have checked your identity, the copy will be destroyed. Your correspondence in which you agreed with our rules and AGP will be archived. Before you can send us the copy of your ID card, you must order your Trusted here.

We can only accept applications which you have mailed to us. The quality of ID card copy has to be very good and we need to check your signature on the application form. We cannot do this by email or fax because they are not safe enough to check a photocopied signature.
It usually takes letters 1-2 business days to arrive, then we will need about one working day to check the letter. If after this time you did not get any response from us (via ESL message), please open a support ticket to get help from an admin.
If you cannot access your account as owner of an ESL Playercard, it will be very easy for us to identify you as the true owner of your own account. Please open an ESL support ticket – you can do this even while not logged in.
Your support ticket needs to consist of the following information:
Your ESL Account ID
your old e-Mail address
a new valid e-Mail address
the verification key from your Playercard letter (even if your card expired)
Your Playercard's card number (even if your card expired)
A copy of your ID Card (only necessary if you do not have a Trusted Account, or if you lost your Playercard number or verification key).
As only employees of Turtle Entertainment's are allowed check your personal data, the process may take up to seven business days.
Important: If you think another person may have accessed your account, please change all of your access data immediately. This includes changing your email password (and the security question) and change all passwords you have for games and other websites! Do virus and spyware scans on your PC. Make sure your new passwords are not the same passwords which you have used before!
