The meaning behind the colours: the new ESL logo
| |||
![]() The ESL has a new logo! The logo is a key part of our overall plan for improving the design of the website and creating a stronger identity for our various professional leagues and divisions. Today we present to you the new logo and explain the reasons behind why we are changing it.
The old logo of the Electronic Sports League has been with us now for almost 10 years. In the course of this time the ESL has grown larger and larger and has now the demands have outgrown the logo. Leagues and structures have grown, new portals such as ESL Sports have been created. With the new logo we can direct that complexity into a consistent and transparent structure. For this reason we have created this new logo.
Three coloured stripes represent the new logo and replace the old one. The new logo allows the structuring and combining of the various leagues and portals in a clear design. The logotype of the Electronic Sports League will remain almost unchanged and still emblazoned prominently in the new logo. Each portal of the ESL receives it's own colour code in three coloured stripes. The new logo of the ESL Pro Series will be represented by a red stripe. The colour red represents energy, strength and leadership, fitting perfectly with it's place at the top of national eSports. On the other hand the blue of the general ESL logo visualizes openness and freedom. It marks the areas where you can simply play and train at the ESL. In the future all products of the ESL will receive an individual colour, which captures their specific properties. Just like the ESL Matchmaker the new logo is part of the increased focus of the league itself, which will come more and more to the foreground. The new uniform and transparent structure of ESL - managed by the new logo - is as much a part of this focus just like the continuous development of Aequitas and ESL Wire. Along with the change of the logo, the ESL page itself will be subjected to a facelift. On Wednesday, 18th February, we will release the new beta skin, so you can see how it looks and works. Until then you can now download the attached logo package to get used to the new design.
