Server Side Hack? No thanks!
The use of server side hacks is still one of the worst types of fraud in e-sports and that is why there is no possibility of rehabilitation for this kind of cheating. Nevertheless, we will from now on expand the punishment catalogue for the use of server side hacks.
Until now, and of it will continue to be, any player that is caught using a Server Side Hack gets 12 penalty points and a barrage from playing on the ESL for 2 years.
As mentioned in the introduction, these players have no chance of rehabilitation!
New barrageFrom now on, every player from the side that provided a server that is found to have Server Side Hacks on it will receive a barrage of 6 months, regardless of whether the hack was actively used.
Also, all matches that were played on this server will be deleted and/or a Statsreset will be performed.
Why this barrage?Server Side Hacks are not a trivial offence and there is no reason to have such a hack installed on the server in an ESL match. All players, just like any team, are responsible for the servers that they provide to play on.
All players in a team will be made responsible.
Excuses like "But I knew nothing of the cheat, the server was from my mate" are irrelevant because, as mentioned before, all players are responsible for the server they use for their matches.
These changes apply to all game sections of the European and German sections of the ESL.
