Country Championships 2012 - The announcement
We are proud to announce you the next big event for 2012. This year we are going to have a Country Championship, where the best players will compete for their country on their way to the playoffs.
With the success of the Call of Duty: MW3 section growing each day, and the continued introduction of new bigger and better cups for you to sink your teeth into, we've decided to go one step further! So grab the chance, prove your skills and apply for your national team in order to make this event as successful as possible.
In the following news you will find all necessary information about the Country Championship 2012.
The upcoming Country Championship 2012 will start in the early days of june. It is going to consist of a groupstage and playoffs. Every team will have 1 match per week, which will be playing in BO3 "Best of Three" - Mode. We decided that streamings for matches will be possible, but you need the agreement (24 hours before the matchstart) of the responsible Admins for that.
The amount of teams will decide about the groupseeding, but we hope that we can get 16 national teams.
In general, we are going to use the same ruleset as 5on5 ladder and cups. Overall the BO3 Mode will be used to determine the winner of a match. This means that each team eliminates one map and then picks one map. The map which neither is eliminated nor picked will be the third map in a match for the overtime. Of course you always play MR12.
A national team consists of 9 players including 1 Team Manager and 1 Team Captain. All 9 players are allowed to play. The minimum age for playing in the Country Championship is 16. Nationality and residence have to be in the country the players will play for and of course every players needs an active gameaccount for Call of Duty: MW3. Besides that, only 3 players from one clan are allowed per national team in general, but only 2 ingame!
To get into a national team you have to contact your national section, as they are going to coordinate their team in the first days. All players that come from a country which doesn't support a national section of Call of Duty: MW3 have to wait until the open application period of the European Section of Modern Warfare 3 starts.
This cup is not about winning yourself a prize, it's about representing your country. However, besides recognition, glory and an amazing chance to fight for your country, all players of the three winning teams will receive a certain amount of ESL Premium Days. Furthermore the three winning teams will receive a special ESL Award for their success.
1st Place: 5x3 Months ESL Premium
