The blizzard is coming, with colder temperatures than scientists could have predicted! The world will be split up into groups fighting for survival, those who choose to survive on their own will not live past the snowstorm, as everyone will be fighting for premium supplies to deal with it.

With letting the year 2009 behind us, we can once again look back at yet another successful year in our dear JK:JA section.

Starting on this friday, the 21st of august, 2009's Summer League will move onto it's final step.

As some of you noticed the cup structure of the upcoming Summer League 2009 has changed from the usual match "tree" to a new group system.

The sun is burning you to ashes? Insects are having a feast on you? You are sweating more than a sumo ringer in a sauna whenever you wear more than your underwear?

After many exciting and also partly quite surprising battles, 2009's Jedi Nations Cup has ended and thus, the crown of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy's strongest nation has been claimed by the grand champion of this tournament.

As some teams had trouble playing there matches during the week, it has been decided to have an extenstion for the 2nd round.

The first round of 2009's Jedi Nations Cup ended. Though a lot of wildcards had to be given out to ensure every nation could participate, we can already have a look at some first matches.

Nations get ready! After much preparation, countless posts and with big help of the community, 2009's Jedi Nations Cup will finally open it's doors.

We are glad to make official that every team successfully sent us an E-Mail about being ready for the JNC 2009.

The following teams have successfully sent us a message and will be considered as participants of the JNC 2009.

A rather long time for preparing their teams has been given to the Team-Captains of 2009's JNC to ensure they all had the appropriate time to organize their team.

There has been some confusion on what is happening with the team as the Team-Captain, aline, had written an inactivity news in her profile's description.

There has been a lot of confusion about the issue wether people have to play on servers hosted on other continents. With this news post we'll clear up that confusion and explain the rules regarding this.

As promised, here are the chosen Team-Captains for each nation. Don't be mad if you didn't become one and instead try to support your Captain. Please have a look at the notes at the end of the news.

Another year has come to an end. Another year of competition, effort and friendship in the history of our JK:JA section. Another year which we can proudly count as one where our section is still one of the most active sections in the ESL.

We are glad that the last news post cleared up some important stuff. As a result, we got some more applications and can also tell you that at least two more teams will participate in 2009's JNC.

The announcement of the new JNC has been welcomed by the community with a great deal of enthusiasm. As a matter of fact, we've received applications for the nation's Team-Captains from far more countries than expected.

Nation. This is the word which means a different country for every single person. As soon as you were born into this world, you got a nationality according to the origin of your parents. You can't do anything against it; it is the fate which decides what your nation is going to be.

Remember the good old times, when pick ups were still enabled? When sabering wasn't just random fragging but also demanding your strategic skills? It's about to come back!

We are glad to announce the first Movie Battles 2 cup in the history of the ESL. Since this is a special event, the cup will be special too. For 16 players this will be the time to show off their skills as Jedi and Sith. The cup will be played in Open Mode, only allowing you to play as Jedi or Sith with only skilling Jump, Saber Attack and Saber Defense.

The Most Matches Competition worked out well for the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy section.

A new release client is out and a new map has been added to the ESL mappool.

Both of the new cups have started. The brackets are online without any wildcards there to decrease the fun.

As you've probably already noticed, there's a hot topic in the JK:JA boards ... only waiting for your answer. Be creative, be proactive and tell us: What kind of cup shall we host next?

The first leafes are changing their color, what flourished some days ago has now turned from green into a shiny red. But don't make the mistake to confound autumnal red with the drops of blood of the dead corpses that discolor our so loved nature. You should rather prepare yourself to fight in the autumn cups!
