Insurgency REVIVAL Cup
The competitive Insurgency community reactivates players and clans and starts a Revival Cup.
As the development of the game has sadly ceased and player counts are falling, the competitive scene in Insurgency has stagnated over the last year. Public gaming has become boring and annoying over time.

But many veteran Insurgency players are not ready to just let this mod fall apart once and for all. This is why the competitive Insurgency community reactivates players and clans together with the ESL.

The potential of this game can only be fully achieved by playing with thoroughly thought out tactics and working comunication. The ESL is the place that can provide this experience perfectly. Everyone is invited who wishes to enhance his INS experience to join the upcoming "Revival Cup".

Important Information

Maps are preset
Although it's a 5on5 tournament, 6on6 is allowed, if both teams agree on it
Reasure yourself by checking the rules here
When all players of both teams have connected to the match server the server admin has to make a CORRECT rcon status screenshot
start Aequitas before you start Insurgency
Every single player has to record a demo
Not showing up within time results in 3 penalty points and a default loss
Got questions or need support? Please submit a ticket

Matches can be moved within the week with the confirmation by your opponent
Moving a match requires a protest at least 48h before the original matchdate for your opponent to agree (24h before) and the admin to adjust the matchdate. Agreements in the prematch chat/comments are not valid!

2. Cheating
2.1. General
All forms of cheating in ESL matches are forbidden and will be penalized by the Electronic Sports League.

Players found cheating outside of the ESL may be barraged on the ESL depending on the evidence available. Note, we do not accept publicly submitted demo or screenshot evidence in these cases.

Should it become known to the ESL administrators that any form of cheating was used to the advantage of a player or a team during an ESL match, the ESL reserves the right to punish them to the full extent of the rules available (see 7.8. Cheating). By breaking any rule a player risks being barred or completely excluded from a specific league or from all leagues. This also includes his or her team.
2.1.1. Bypassing Aequitas
The use of programs (or "hacks") to circumvent, modify or in any way manipulate Aequitas is forbidden.

Any use of such programs will be penalized within the rule 7.8. Cheating. Even testing of such programs in a match not happening within the ESL will be prosecuted.
2.2. Game Modifications and Changes
In general, all programs which are not part of the original game, including custom-data and modifications, are not allowed in any ESL game. Exceptions will be outlined in each ladder’s own specific rules or below in 2.2.1. Legal programs and configuration modifications.
2.2.1. Legal programs and configuration modifications
All external voice programs are allowed (e.g. Battlecom, Gamevoice, Teamspeak, Ventrilo etc.). Script changes and changes to the game’s configuration are allowed, unless they are partly or completely forbidden by the game-specific rules.
2.2.2. Illegal programs and configuration modifications
Programs that provide an advantage during game play (e.g. drivers that allow the removing of walls such as ASUS or Wallhack) are forbidden. Any programs that change the game itself are forbidden.
2.2.3. New programs and/or modifications
New programs and/or modifications are forbidden, as long as they are not specifically listed as legal.
2.2.4. Compulsory programs
Additional programs have been developed for some games. These mostly serve the purpose of ensuring fair play. These additional compulsory programs are listed in the game-specific rules.
2.2.5. Server modifications
Server modifications that are neither explicitly mentioned as legal nor as illegal in the set of rules are only allowed if they do not affect the normal gameplay.
What's that supposed to mean, sir major?
It means that V3 will kick ass! :)

nothing inside

almaden and sinjar must be remove from the cup. Those maps are not made for competition.

prize: hall of fame entry

and ???
just click at the VS. link in the tournament tree. that's how you might get the information you are looking for.

If you don't like those maps you mentioned then you should probably challenge teams on other maps in the ladder ;) By the way, most of the competitve players think other way than you do ;)
Mrcine is back on ESL.
nice to have you guys back here.
btw, there are only 2 open slots remaining. hurry up guys ...
"By the way, most of the competitve players think other way than you do ;) "
Are you sure ?
Almaden baghdad for the finals, no firefight map?

How does it work with the finals btw? What does the teams have to do to win the cup all in all? :D

I would suggest not playing Delta on Almaden or Sinjar as those two objectives result in most arguments over the rules. As those objectives are a lot about almost breaking the rules as much as you can to win ^^. Clearly they are the two worst objectives made if you look at them with competetive compatibility in sense.

Also encourage teams to agree on playing with spawn protection (not nessecarely the default times) if they want to, and write down the nessecary stuff in the match details ofc.
@ ze one: yes, we made a poll for it some time ago and that's why we chose those maps for the finals, because those two maps were the one who are voted as most popular maps.

@ snuffeldjuret: @ I agree with you about the two objectives, but do you really want to stop after capturing the third objective? both teams have to play each side and in the end the admin(s) have to decide if there are protests to solve.

I would also prefer your suggest to play with spawn protection, if both teams agree on it in written form. we could dicuss it in the forums and write a newsletter to the teams taking part - if they agree on it.
hey hey hey!!! cooooooooooolllllllllllllllll guys!!!

but i think that the viva's can't play at this cup because of inactivity!!!

greez seppel^^

Yea I would actually prefer to stop once charlie is captured. Sinjar Delta is better than almaden delta in the sense of not risking to break the rules though, but sinjar is so random in how and where people spawn. It is very unfair if one team is lucky and spawn at the lower spawn and does not get spawn exit killed while the other team was unforteunate and spawned upstairs. I don't like when chance decides the winner, and I don't like when you litteraly see the enemy spawn out of thin air when you are inside the objective you shall capture :P.

That is my opinion though, the question is what other people think =).

Viva's clan is a good team. Let's them play.

I think you have map made for 5vs5 and others made for 6 even 8 vs 6(8). It's just a fun competition because the game is over bugged so why not ?

"because those two maps were the one who are voted as most popular maps." on public server yes but not in esl matches that make non-sense.
Other thought, I've seen you're still using aquietas huum ... Do you really think it's a good sowftware to prevent hacking ?
Lets hope ESl Wire Anti-Cheat is going to be released before the cup starts, ZE_PWNAGE !!!
The question isn´t, whether aeq is perfect, but rather there is no better one.
There is no doubt almaden and baghdad are the most loved maps when it comes to playing 5on5.

I agree on aequitas not being an issue. Is there really anything better?

Anyway, if a dispute comes to a situation an admin has to decide who is right and who is wrong the damage is done. It is not a question of how to "legally" make it work, it is all about getting people to not hate 1, the opponent; 2, the ESL and 3, the ESL admins.

To remove delta from Almaden and Sinjar will result in less disputes = less hate. Everyone is a winner!
Oh there will be enough hate snuff xD
not because of this two points, but because of old rivalries :)
"rivalries" heu what ? Are you under drugs ?
google translator? :P
come get some
no more teams? I'm sick at heart. :(
we will in, i think
Nice to hear =)

I know I would miss RATS a lot if you guys were not participating =(.
