| Try downloading again from here: Visual C++ 2008 SP1 x86 ( 32bit ) Visual C++ 2008 SP1 x86-64 ( 64bit ) If it fails, there might be something messed up with your Windows. Check your installed Software to see if there are already ( sometimes there are many ) different versions of VC++ 2008 installed - uninstall them and try it again. Last chance: Reinstall your Windows ( seriously ). [ quote ]

| I have the same problem! tried all the solutions above, still fail. I use vista SP2 maybe that is the problem (only work on SP1 ?) I tried without antivirus, firewall = Fail. Is there a way to avoid the c++ 2008 SP1 install with the esl wire installer? Because the official microsoft visual c++ 2008 sp1 installer works perfectly for me. but after that its still try to install with the esl wire installer. [ quote ]

| When i try to install the "vcredist_x86" it immediately gives me the error saying "The installation package or needed file could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it." [ quote ]

| Try cleaning up your Temp-Folder. You could also try installing it using Windows Safe Mode ( F8 before Windows starts ). Else I would check your Hard Drive which might be damaged. -- my coding-blog: http://www.blackcorestudios.de/ [ quote ]

| Hello MaStyle, please try to turn off your antivir + firewall and install Wire again with administratorrights (rightclick > run as administrator). [ quote ]
