Server settings: Globalconfig
Challenge procedure
Both players picked up their map from the map pool.
The challenger is forced to inform the opponent about the incoming match, especially the place for it (server address and password).
The last chance to contact is 15 minutes before the match in the IRC channel #esl.et (QuakeNet) or in the opponent’s IRC channel (if exists). Players can also meet in the ESL Match Chat.
Match procedure
Challenged player can choose which map will be played first.
Two rounds will be played on each map.
Winning the map earns 2 points to the player.
In case of a draw after both maps, a third map can be played optionally.
This decider map will be chosen by elimination.
Air strikes and fire supports are disallowed during the whole match.
Spectators are allowed only if both players agree.
Connection Problems
The players are responsible to make sure that their Internet connection, hard- and software (TZAC) works. In case of a disconnect during the game, for whatever reason, the round will be rated as loss for the player that disconnected.
Maps evaluation
Objective based maps:
These maps are without time limit.
When a player reached the map objective, then he won the round.
Round time is not counted here. Objective can be reached in overtime. Self kills are disallowed at all.
Doing a self kill/setting artillery/support fire results in at least losing the round. In very special cases you even can lose the map.
Deathmatch maps:
All deathmatch maps have 10 minutes time limit.
Player with fewer DEATHS, after both rounds, won the map. Self kills are allowed, but will give you a death.
Falling to death is also included to the amount of deaths.
Setting artillery/support fire results in at least losing the round. In very special cases you even can lose the map.
Match result
The final score (won rounds) is entered as match result.
The screenshots must be uploaded within 24 hours after the game ends.
Both players must record a demo from the whole match.
Remember: In the ESL there are no def wins!
Matchmedia
At least one of the two players is forced to upload all screenshots of the match. This means five (or more if a decider map was played) screenshots are required.
Both players have 24 hours to upload the screenshots after the match has ended. Otherwise the match will be deleted and both players will receive one Penality Point for not uploading the screenshots completely in time! (News)
Match broadcasting
Matches can be broadcasted by Bani’s ETTV. If you want to know more about ETTV look here (servers) or here (clients).
Match coverage can be requested on the GTV page or by asking an ESL Admin.
The broadcast is only allowed if both teams agree!
Broadcasts which are set by the ESL staff cannot be refused by players/teams.
