We are very proud to announce another game for the upcoming season of ESL Major Series. In Season VII, League of Legends will be a part of one of our most important tournaments on ESL. League of Legends has shown a great development right from the beta and has now reached the point where we want to reward the effort of the community with a prize pot of 5,000 Euros.

About League of Legends in ESL Major Series

The ESL Major Series is the highest level of European competition in the Electronic Sports League for games not included in the Intel Extreme Masters. League of Legends has enthralled a large community right from the start and a lot of players here on ESL. To thank the community for their efforts and passion for the game we are proud to announce League of Legends as a new game in ESL Major Series for the upcoming season with a total prize pot of:

5,000 Euros

Further details on the qualification, mode and much more will be released in the following weeks. Stay tuned for more information!

Needs more? This game is already in the WCG and now in the ESL Major Serious. There is no "more" :P

why 5000 € for a game which isnt suited for competetive gaming and more aimed towards players between 6-10 years ? why not invest more in real AoS Games like HoN ? esl :)

at least if you wanna include a dota clone that it isnt the actual dota do the right thing and add hon...LoL and competitive gaming is like loud-farting-competition in ESL masters.

HoN players whine that S2 aren't willing to invest as much as Riot. There is a reason LoL is growing at a far quicker rate and the first reason is that the game is not a straight dota reskin.

i really hope the qualification system will be announced soon :)

and btw stop flaming abount dota > hon > lol > dota... nobody wants to hear it and all you guys with your bad manner really make the community aspect suck... maybe just be glad that the esl offers something like this instead of flaming every game thats not yours ... in the end its all about personal preferences

how wrong is this? wtf do you even know about the hon community? hon has seen much more competetive play than lol has. lans, online tournaments, hon even got shoutcasting. dota is populare for a reason, becasue icefrog knows how to balance and he does it great. If you are going to make a dota clone atleast do it right. lol is just a half failed copy of what used to be a great game (dota). Im not saying hon dosnt have balancing issuses, but hon is 3 times more suited for competetive play than lol will ever be.
