Usual Course of a Submatch
Players meet at negotiated time and location (i.e. IRC, ICQ, online lobby etc.)
- Mapchoice: The decider map is played first. The loser of the preceding game picks the following map. The player who picks map, must choose his race first.
- Each player saves a screenshot of the post game summary and a replay after each map, that has been played. These matchmedia must be uploaded after the match at least once.
- Results and maps are reported to each respective team leader and/or orga.

Recommendations
- If possible use the "Add Match Report" feature at the bottom of each matchup website to report submatch results. This is easier for anyone than browsing through hundreds of comments.
- Every deviation from the standard procedure (i.e. moving matches, replacement players etc.) should be reported in the match comments for your safety.
- Stay clean: Penalty Points stay the whole season and affect your teams performance in general (see rules 8.1.6. and 8.1.8.). In the Clan League Penalty Points are distributed more rigorous than in the ladders. Violations the League Administration is actively looking for are missing screenshots, missing replays, wrong GameSpyIDs and irregular lineups.

Matchmedia
By the rules replays and scoreboard screenshots have to be uploaded for each match! The winning player is responsible that they are uploaded but both players have to store the matchmedia at least for 14 days.

Be aware of different time zones and daylight saving times. This is especially important in intercontinental matchups. All times in the Electronic Sports League are Central European Time. From the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October, summer time is in Effect, This means that UK time becomes UTC+1 and Central European time becomes UTC+2.

Random
Random is not allowed in any competitive ESL game.
Wildcards
Single matches can be moved by using a wildcard. Each team has two wilcards available during the group stage. The matches moved by wildcard have to be played within the duration of the group stage. There will be no aftermath week.
