This time's topic is the future of Counter-Strike because of the changes running on the American scene with many clans switching to Counter-Strike: Source because of a new league which offers big prize money and bigger support by TV broadcast.

The demo of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars has finally arrived after being announced and postponed several times, we can now enjoy one tutorial mission, two single-player missions featuring live action video sequences, one skirmish map with three different difficulty settings, and one trailer featuring Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, Michael Ironside. Two small new features, one bugfix and a performance-optimization for our Gather System. The most important message for many should be that the Bug "You have own open Gather" has been fixed. The two new features are the ability to add a voicecom server and a small function which makes it easier to complete a gather.

Electronic Sports League as of now enters the fast growing Chinese eSports market. In a press conference with high-ranking government officials and general managers of important Chinese companies, PGL and ESL announced a cooperation spanning pro gaming and casual gaming leagues. One of the features which we have been asked about almost daily for the past years is now available: The Buddylist. On the one hand this list includes a friendslist on which you can see which friends are online and on the other hand you get a complete contactlist of all buddies and people you know, which will be visible on your playerprofile.

Each Premium member of the ESL can from now on get a unique URL where his Playersheet will be available. In addition we have created the new subdomain "player.esl.eu" which one can use to link his profile in for example forums.

Five years ago, to be more precise on April 2nd 2002, the ESL Premium account was launched. This is a very long time, especially in the world of internet and gaming. Since the launch of Premium the ESL and the Premium accounts have gained a lot of features and attractiveness, and all that for a price of two euro a month. After five years there will be a first price change, so that the price and package are in balance.

The Electronic Sports League is constantly growing and the international section is growing even faster. Therefore we are looking for those special individuals, who are willing to help out fellow gamers, who are not scared of taking responsibility and who want to support the ESL. If you are such an individual and have some spare time on your hands we are looking forward to read your application.
