On 18th November the latest creation from Valve hits the shops: Left 4 Dead. We don't need to introduce Valve. Ten years ago they rushed to the top ranks of game developers with the release of Half-Life. This is reason enough to have a closer look at the completely new game Left 4 Dead. We were invited by Valve to have an eyes on preview of Left 4 Dead in Seattle next weekend.

Thomas Weiss from the University of Cologne has decided to make an eSports survey. The result is said to be used for eSports promotion and help the phenomena to grow, but for this to be of any use there is of course of huge importance that people will take the 5-10 minutes to answer the questions.

From today two far-reaching changes in the ESL Gather system will be made. The most exciting change is we have removed the 20 gathers per week limit for non premium members! As a result of this change we have tightened the rating system so misbehaving players will be excluded more rapidly.

The Alpen ESL Pro Series starts again and we are proud to announce the prize money for the seventh season! Three disciplines will be played: CS 1.6, FIFA 08 and CS: Source. See inside to find out how the prize money is distributed.
