Rules update
It's unfortunate when the waaghboss mob has to implement more rules, but with a patch still a bit away, and no confirmation of it fixing the balance, our hand has been forced.
While a patch has been announced for early may, some of you will recall the patch dow:soulstorm that was announced for early july*. And even if it is on time, reric make bug*.

The Rules updates


The 1st rule update involve bug abuse, which has been updated for clarification, the old rule was:
9.4 Bug abuse
The use of bugs is not allowed and will be penalized with two, four or six penalty points if the bug lead to a game advantage.
This depends on the bug concerned and it is up to the admin responsible to decide this.


This has been changed to:

Following the closure of the EMS qualifiers, we've noticed that these clanwars are just Ravener alpha mirrors, in an attempt to diversify the EMS, and to make the clanwars more interesting in general, we've added 2 new rules:
9.5.2 Clanwar Choice limitations
In dow2 patch 1.21 clanwars, teams are limited to using 1 Ravener alpha in the 1on1s per clanwar. This does not affect the 3on3 decider


What this rule means is that only 1 player in a lineup is allowed use the Ravener Alpha in 1 of the 4 1on1s involved in the EMS. If a player plays even 1 map as a ravener alpha, no one else on his team may pick that hero. The 3on3 is unaffected by this, so a different player (or the same player) may play as the ravener alpha in that. Of course, hero limit 1 is still in effect.



We've also tried to balance Tyranids as a whole by reducing the effect of Rippers. As such, Manual reinforcement of ripper squads has been removed from the bug list, and added to a ripper specific rule:
9.5.3 Ripper Squads
Manual reinforcement of ripper squads is not allowed, breach of this rule will result in a rematch.
There is a limit of 1 alive ripper squad per tyranid player at any time.

i think one ravener limit is fine at first. really nice work. was also hoping for something like this because it was redicoulous in the last wars;).

poor prediction gaming
I got 2 questions.
1. About rule 9.4 bug abuse. When Mekboy teleport nearby vehicle and drop mine to it. They blow up and vehicle dont do anything for 30-45 seconds, is it bug abuse?
2. About rule 9.5.3 1 ripper limit. Tiranids have special ability, that call to base 1 squad of hormagaunt,termagaunt and ripper. Should i send to die my first ripper or enough that second ripper dont do anything at base? I hope this rule dont count if i use this ability, while my first rippers dieing at enemy base.

plz no 2 nids in 3on3 is sooooo imba...
good one,bad luck for me,i just finished playing my match in the spring league vs LammerZone vs his nids,and i think i ll not be cualified to next round,because the 2 ravener players will be in the 1º and 2º place,i would like to see this game more balance,what some teams were going to do without imba.that will help now a lot to fair players.

2) you can just leave your unit inactive in his base.
The ripper squad has huge population cap if I cant use it I would rather let it die. -.-

this Rule applys for the MAINQualifier of EMS already ? or just when EMS Groupstage starts afterwards !

I think you are talking of the Qualification Round on Sunday? Yes it applies there.

Palad, then ork just can't use mines) If the mines was dropped and after some time you will get on it by a vehicle and it will stuck then it will be a bug abusing?)
you can fix that by repairing the vehicle, whats more imba is when he throws them on the vehicle and instagibs it.
hm... can ESL create a patch or pr0 mod against this? =)
