The Rules

Lets take a look at the ruleset for that tournament:

Games will be BO3 (Best of 3) expect the final game will be BO5.

Game rules will be:

-Don't trash talk your opponent or distract with needless conversation during the game.

-Don't intentionally abuse any new bugs that you may have found out about in the current patch for Soulstorm or that aren't specified here, or use any kind of cheat or third party program that gives you an unfair advantage.

-If you pick Eldar, and (only if) your opponent picks Space Marines, you are not allowed to research ranger infiltration until tier 2 (i.e until you have completed a soul shrine).

-If you pick Sisters of Battle, you are not allowed to have more than 6 Rhino Vehicles at any point in time (obviously you can replace them if they die, but you may not have more than 6 on the field at once).

-If you pick Sisters of Battle, you are not allowed to purchase a veteran sister superior for any of your squads with the intention of abusing the bug which resets the timer for angelic visage and krak grenades once the leader purchase is complete. To avoid this, upgrade the leader first before using any of these abilities, or wait for at least 120 seconds after using either ability before using it again. This one will be hard to avoid in the heat of battle, so players will be given the benefit of the doubt if a mistake is made - however penalties will apply if abuse is obvious from the replay!

-If you pick Necrons, you are not allowed to abuse any of the bugs relating to the Deciever. This one is unlikely to crop up as an issue, but in general - if you happen to be in a game featuring the Deciever, just don't abuse any of the bugs related to the Tau Ethereal, Eldar Warp Spiders etc.

-Finally, please, please, please don't go and edit the default race colour schemes with horrific looking colours. Nobody will be disqualified over stuff like this, but I will be upset and will mock you when commentating. Nobody wants to look at barbie-pink space marines. Do everyone a favour and just leave the game-preset team colours as default. I would prefer to pitch this as a serious tournament as much as possible.

The Prizepool

The first and the second place get some money as prize:

100$ for the winner.
50$ for second.

Playday I

The matches of the first playday are as following:

KoMMo vs. sHade

This will be interesting, very interesting. sHaDes Eldar vs. KoMMos Dark Eldar (at least I think so). KoMMo is very good with almost every race but I think he will take DE or Tau in this game.
If sHaDe can handle koMMo's strong tier 1 then sHaDe will probably win. KoMMo will come very aggressive with his Tau / DE in t1 and trying to get map and sHaDes eco down. If sHaDe can make T2 with decent eco and get some av and other Eldar tier 2 stuff out, then he will most likely win.
I still guess koMMo is going to win this by aggressive tier 1 play.

koMMo will win [2:1]

Last time they played KoMMo won 2-0 by playing very aggressive in tier 1. This time it will go different I think, as sHaDe is a very good eldar player, who knows how to change tactics and his ambition is bigger than by any other player in the tourney. KoMMo can play every race but I guess he chooses DE, might switch to Tau if he loses first game. This time sHaDe won’t lose after first round, to be honest he’s one of my favourits. KoMMo’s only chance is to hope for some mistakes by shade here and there… but on the whole I think sHaDe’s going to win 2-0 this time.

LeRagpicker vs. Santiago4Ever

This is most interesting game in PLAYDAY 1 imo. Best random player LeRagpicker facing best Ork player Santiago4Ever. Santi has very strong two maps Outer Reaches and Fallen City. If Leragpicker is going to play Eldar there then he is going to be dead meat. LeRagpicker's main race is Chaos tho, anyway its hard to guess what race he is going to pick. What ive seen Santi's replays he has awesomome macro, so if Rag is going to take Chaos he has to make sure his not much behind teching vs Santi, because there will come fast trukks vs. bolters with mix meelee units. Rag has to be fast enough in t2 to get some av out vs. Santi.
Anyway, both players will win their own map and decider map will decide who will win.

Santiago4Ever will win [2:1]

It’s a shame that two very polite players have u face each other in the first round. Both can play most races, though I think Santi will play Ork and taste a little bit of Lerag’s Chaos. Santi will choose FC or OR as his map and that gives him a huge advantage, because Ork is quite unbeatable on those maps while Lerag can’t pick a very good map against Orks. Santi might be the huge favourite in this tourney but Lerag will give him some great matches. After 3 close games it will end 2-1 for Santi I think. Only chance for Lerag is to get a map advantage on FC. Then he has the chance to actually win 2-0. But good luck with that ;)

sombrero vs. marteffyo

Well well, look whos here. Fallen Soulz fellas, marteffyo and sombrero. This game is only game in this week which will end 2:0 and it will end for marty. Marty has an awesome tier 1.5 Orks and agressive one. I played once vs. sombreros Space Marines with my Orks and I have to say his anti Ork wasnt that good.
If Somb is going to win this he has to work more his anti Ork for sure.

marteffyo will win [2:0]

I’m really curious about this match. The Big Marteffyo vs the underdog of the tourney, Sombrero. Back in DC, Marty probably was the best Ork player around and I still think, he doesn’t need a good day to beat anyone. My money is definitely on Marteffyo here, he’ll win 2-0 easily. If he plays some more games in the next week he has a good chance to actually win the tourney.

epIx vs. hunry_womble

These two guys already met in the SS Cup here in ESL. epIx won that 2:1. Tbh I dont know can womble do much with his main race Space Marines vs. epIx Tau. As far as I know womble doesnt have any good anti Tau as SM. Womble has decent Ork, Cron and Chaos. I think he have to choose one of those 3 races to beat epIx.
If Womble can figure something out then maybe he has a chance. I still think womble is going to win 1 game on his own map but thats it. I dont blame him, Tau isnt easy to beat and epIx sure knows the tricks.

epIx with csm usualy do weird style or freestyle, so it can be straight tech to t3 or smth with chaos marines. If he goes tau, it will be same as all tau - mass crap with t1-t2 agression. Other races also can be considered. Hungry_Womble plays sm mostly, and he usually do eco builds, but he plays pretty stable and strong. Going to be close games.
