No costs, more possibilities
Since the change of the operator of the free browser game Counter-Strike Manager in December, it's not just getting forward ingame. Also the partnership between the ESL and CSM could now be expanded. Both new and already active players benefit from some improvements, which we present you in this news.
What is CSM?
Before we present the new features, we first want to explain the Counter-Strike Manager shortly for those who are new to the game. The Counter-Strike Manager (CSM) is a free browser-based manager game.
Gone are the days when normally only a single match per day could be played. And gone are the days when money had to be paid for the in-game ladder.
Limitations that belong to the past, because CSM now offers you a new ingame CSM ESL Ladder, which is free for ESL-members and ensures that up to three ladder matches per day can be played. Therefore it allows you to enable the AutoChallenger in all ladders, to participate in cups and to use available dates for additional challenges. To join the ladder for free you have to use this link. You can find it in the information box on the main page of the CSM ESL section, too.
Free Game - Playing without costs
We felt it is important that everyone has the opportunity to play in the CSM-section without having to pay money. Due to the free ingame-ladder additional costs are eliminated, so that the Counter-Strike Manager is now really a free game section.
For some time the registration at CSM is free and requires no payment by SMS. Each player can test the VIP status for 14 days for free after the registration. This allows to watch the games in 2D live-mode to check how well the tactics works. The VIP status also offers additional statistics, information and some smaller functions. The continued use costs the equivalent of 1.50 € per month (about 1.10 € for bookings for one year in advance), but for playing in the ESL Ladder it's not mandatory.
Only the EAS and the corresponding Premiership require an ESL premium account. Every other ladders and cups are freely accessible for every user with CSM account.
Starter Ladder only for beginners
We've decided that the starter ladder should fulfill the purpose in the future for which it was created: A ladder, in which CSM newcomers can collect their first experiences in the ESL section without overpowering opponents. Therefore in the starter ladder only CSM newcomers and no Rebuilders or players who are intentionally in the lower divisions are allowed to play in the Starter Ladder since last season. Participation is open to members whose CSM account is maximum 110 days (at the time of sign up the starter or of the season update) old. After each season, all players which no longer meet this condition are removed from the ladder.
Support for the start
Who feels unsure when starting in CSM, need not to worry. You won't be left alone! In the game itself, there is a small tutorial that leads you through some parts of the game. As a reward for completing the tasks, you get virtual money that you can spend for players, staff, training rooms and more. But please be sparing with the money. A FAQ, various guides and help articles in any game area explains other functions and processes to you. In most countries there are also CSM mentors. They support you in the beginning and answer your questions about the game. In addition, the game itself has also a help forum.
For the CSM sections in the ESL there will be a revised beginners soon. If there are questions the admin team and other members of ESL will help you in our CSM forum.
Possibilities in the ESL
Those who is no longer a starter or don't want to play only in the Starter Ladder can also play in other ladders in the CSM ESL-Section, we want to mention here:
