Honestly, we are quite surprised how many teams signed up for our 2on2 Winter Cup. This is the biggest 2on2 Cup we ever had in our section and there are many new teams here. To have enought time to play all matches in the group stage, we decided that the cup starts earlier. You can also find all information regarding the cup in this news.
Cup starts earlier
Due to this big cup we had to do some changes. There were different options: 8 groups with only 4 teams, a single elimination in the final playoffs or limit the slots. But we decided to start the cup about 8 days earlier. So the deadline for the signup is January 12th. Then we will start to create the groups for this cup.
How to play 2on2 Matches
First you should join the ingame CSM ESL Ladder
via this link
for free. It's also allowed to play your matches as PCW, but most members in the ESL prefers the ingame Ladder. Your players won't lose fitness. If the groups and matches are created, you can see all your matches here
. Important for you are the matches of the
Counter-Strike Manager 2on2 Winter Cup 2012 Group Stage.
A 2on2 match consists of two single 1on1 matches per team
. A short example: We have Team 1 with Player A and Player B, and we have Team 2 with Player C and Player D. In a 2on2 Match there are to matches: Player A vs. Player C and Player B vs. Player D. So every player has to play once. You're allowed to agree with your opponent, who plays against whom.
If you can't agree, we have a short rule for this situation: The players with the best international ranking in CSM plays against each other on the first map, the other two players on the second map.
When both matches are played, you can insert the result of the matches. Please enter the same results as in CSM. So if you played 14:10 and your mate 8:16 , you also have to enter 14:10 and 8:16. Results like 1:0, 1:1 or 0:1 are not allowed! Also please don't forget to upload your matchreports
of CSM. If you don't know what a correct screenshot of the matchreport is, please look in our rules
Group Stage Information
There are two parts in the 2on2 Winter Cup 2012. The first one is the Group Stage, where the teams are signed in. In the group stage there will be 4 groups with 7 or 8 teams, so every team have to play against each other. Also draws are possible in the Group Stage. The top 2 of each group are qualified for the final playoffs, which is played in Double Elimination mode.
We also want to recommend you our 2on2 Ladder. Since the announcement of the Winter Cup the Ladder has grown and there is now more activity.
