Why we force the cvar cl_bobcycle to its default value
Due to the big feedback in form of comments in the news or in supports and protests in the cups and ladders, we would like to give you a short insight on why we force cl_bobcycle to its standard value of 0.98. Also this is important even if you didn't tweak your config so far, as this value might be set to an older value due to the conversion of the old beta files.

Why force cl_bobcycle 0.98?

cl_bobcycle not only changes the way of your weapon bobs while running but also the motion blur while having a sniper in zoom. So this value changes not only one more or less unimportant detail but also something that can have a major impact while playing VERSUS, ladder or cup matches. We decided to have the default value fixed as this gives every player the same condition while playing.

How do we handle violations of this rule?

As this value is not set to 0.98 by default for every player, in all cups and ladder matches on EU you will receive a warning for the team or player if the value is not set correctly. A second warning in another match will make you lose by default. In Ladders the match will be deleted, when more than one player played with wrong clientsettings.

So please take a look at your config files and search for cl_bobcycle to set it to the correct value. Some players who had access to the beta will find it set to 1, which is not a major change but still off the rules.

like you said 0.02 in frequezncy is nothing, so it should be interesting to be educative on the last go4 and explain to players why they must change their cvar instead of doing like everytime on ESL and puting 10k warnings.

w/e now this is the rules its ok, not if sure if its the best choice for the gameplay . . .
