VERSUS Beta - Your Feedback was our Command!
It was time to make changes and that is why we bring to you the newest and improved VERSUS rules to Combat Arms. Were you tired of HE grenades? Thinking team sizes were not the best and things should be improved? We bring to you a more competitive, restricted and improved VERSUS for your enjoyment.

VERSUS Beta - Your Feedback was our Command!


The "VERSUS Beta" - as the name itself implies - was a test. We took all the opinions and suggestions into consideration and tried to make the best, competitive and fair rules possible and still make it enjoyable for everyone. Among some changes we have a new map coming out to ESL, Piazza, a new team size has been also added, VERSUS is now oficially a 4vs4 Team Sized Mode. And if you thought HE Grenades would still be allowed and a problem to all the players, we want to announce that 4th slot has also suffered modifications.

VERSUS Rules


Mode Settings:
  • Mode: Search & Destroy
  • Goal: 5 Rounds
  • Players: 4 vs 4
  • 1st Arms: No Backpack

Option:
  • Join Mid Combat: On
  • Friendly Fire: On
  • Kill Cam: Off
  • Abbilities: Off

Equipment:
  • No NX equipment (on par weapons allowed)
  • No specialists or mercenaries
  • 15% speed maximum (no Heavy Vest)
  • M67 Frag (no Frag Pack), M18 Smoke, XM84 Flash (max. 1 per team)

Map pool:
Sand Hog, Ghost Town, Short Fuse, Power Surge, Rattlesnake, Warhead, Piazza

These are, from now on, the new rules on VERSUS. We honestly hope, these changes bring back the old activity and competition we once had on VERSUS and that it increases even more from now on.

a 4on4 cup or something.

@Topic : I think its ridicilous that nobody is playing Versus after ESL admin(s) made such changes for us. Pretty sad that nobody is even caring about it.

The rules change certainly improves VERSUS, but i still think the biggest issue has been the cheat wave that there is in CA right now, and we all know some hackers usually play in versus and even been banned.

Coyote, its impossible to keep a game 100% hackfree, people bypass softwares and some of them even selfmake hacks which are impossible to detect until someone gets their hands on it and shows us.


HornyHorse, the rules were released today, eventually time will get more people to play as we hope and wish.

One of the biggest problems in VS. are the players who are not playing with Wire Anti-Cheat on. But as you can read in the latest VS. news, a new feature is under development and will fix this issue. Until it is released, please use the report function and report as much as you can. It really hels us to keep VERSUS clean and to remove players who are only making trouble.

I am aware of this, there is and always be hackers. However my point was more towards what Kenobi said, that people dont always use the Anticheat to play versus. I hope that feature solves the problems, but will ESL Wire be enough?

Anyway, its nice to see that you listen to people's suggestions and satisfy them, lets see if they respond by playing again. Keep the good work

Yes indeed,

Loads and loads of respect to the Admins,
Would be nice to have some kind of feature that you have to start the game with wire or you can't play the match at all...
Maybe a idea?

That is impossible because you can start Combat Arms normally without even needing ESL Wire , as if you were going to public game. But thanks for your good feedback :)
