All matches will be played in Best-of-Three mode.

Map and faction choice:
The contestant on the left side of the matchsheet will begin the elimination, then the contestant on the right side follows. Once there are three maps left the contestant on the left side picks a map, then the contestant on the right side does the same. The remaining map is the first map you play. Second map is the one the loser of the first map picked and the third map (if needed) is the last remaining map.

The contestant on the left side will play as Soviets for the first game then Germans in the next game. If the deciding game needs to be played then the player with the best VP score from both games gets faction choice in the deciding game.

What is ESL Series you ask? Allow us to elaborate...

The ESL Series not only merges our old EAS and ladder systems, revolutionizes them! Regular competition in divisions graduated by skill continues to be the key element even though we built the league and its matchmaking completely from scratch. Just like in VERSUS the whole procedure - from searching for opponents to entering the score - is made simpler and fairer!

You do not need Premium or Trusted to get started in the ESL Series!

You'll find more information in our recent preview called ESL Series explained:
I Divisions - II Points System - III Matchmaking - IV Minimum Activity

There are currently 16 matchdates every week - 9 in the 1on1 Series and 7 in the 2on2 Series. If you wish to play on one of the available dates, simply sign up for it in the match scheduler. If one or more other contestants signed up for the same date, you will get a match.

You can find more information about the ESL Series matchmaking here:
What happens if we sign up for match dates and don't get matches due to players not attending that match date? Will we be penalized for no activity? I assume it won't be an issue but with only 5 matches having been played in first couple days it's a thought. (I'm sure it will pick up but wondering what happens in that circumstance.
