CoD4: Country Championship
We are happy to announce our next big event for 2012, the very first Call of Duty 4 Country Championship in the last couple of years right here, on the ESL. We are on our mission to find the very best of talent all across the Europe, create the best possible national teams we can and put them all in one epic battle to find out what country has got it all.

With the Call of Duty community growing each day, we have decided to go one step further and provide you with the ultimate competition that allows you to fight for you country and prove you are the very best nation.

General Information

The upcoming Country Championship will start in mid June, as soon all teams are ready to compete. The competition is going to consist of two stages - groupstage and playoffs. The amount of teams competing depends on how much nations will be interested in putting a national team together.

Most likely Best-Of-Three mode will be used throughout the whole competition, as seen in this season's ESL Major Series and each team will have 1 match per week.

To get into or lead a national team you have to contact your national section, as they are going to coordinate their team in the first days. All players that come from a country which doesn't support a national section of Call of Duty 4 have to wait until the open application period of the European Section.

A national team consists of 9 players including 1 Team Manager and 1 Team Captain. All 9 players are allowed to play. The minimum age for playing in the Country Championship is 16. Nationality and residence have to be in the country the players will play for and of course every players needs an active gameaccount for Call of Duty 4. Besides that, only 3 players from one clan are allowed per national team in general, but only 2 in game!

Prizes

This cup is not about winning yourself a prize, it's about representing your country. However, besides recognition, glory and an amazing chance to fight for your country, all players of the three winning teams will receive a certain amount of ESL Premium Days. Furthermore the three winning teams will receive a special ESL Award for their success.

1st Place: 5x3 Months ESL Premium
2nd Place: 5x2 Months ESL Premium

You should see something on ESL Benelux if they have chosen to lead the national section. If they haven't, it will be open application in the next weeks.
