After some very stable months we have begun to have problems with the availability of the ESL website. The coders are working hard to solve the problems. Like last year there will compensation for the problems to all Premium users in the form of free PDs in February.

The final event of the first ESL Major Series in CS 1.6 Female in Cologne, Germany, is over. In the "Sport- und Olympiamuseum", next to the Rhein, the teams of n!faculty, mousesports from Germany, McPoker.emuLate from France and the famous Les Seules from Scandinavia competed for the first title of Europe's best female Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has had a great start in the online community and especially in the Electronic Sports League. Many players switched from Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2 and Counterstrike in order to make CoD4:MW their new favorite and many of them participated in several tournament the ESL hosted. ahh sorry! We arent momentary at the Eurovision Song Contest Finals but rather at the end of the first New Year Night Cup. All games have been played, the guns are empty, the boots dirty, some players are exhausted and several teams will be given the chance to position themselves better at the next cup. Nevertheless some teams stick out!
But enough talking... lets get to the award ceremony!

After taking the 1st spot in Rosetta@Home by storm in only a few months, we focused our combined computing power on Spinhenge@Home, a German project from the University of Bielefeld. We have done a good job so far by reaching the 2nd spot and have been challenged to a race by the current leaders of the ranking - Planet3dnow. The operators of Spinhenge asked us to wait until January. So now it's time - Gamers, please start your engines!
