 For a long time there was no news, but know we have a lot of things to announce. We would like to start a really big and fantastic event called "Country championship". If you want to take part in this great event, please read this news really carefully! Furthermore a new cup will be announced in this news.

Country Championship Matches
Team-Captain / Player Application Form Make sure that you have added the following details to your application. How to apply? The Player and Team-Captain application period starts today and will be closed on thursday 01/07/2010. Stay tuned for upcoming information on this Country Championship! Movie ContestAs you know the movie contest ended a few days ago. The admin team will now review the emails we got.More information will follow as soon as possible. Random CupA few news ago we announced a cup that will be planned by the player council. Now we can you present you this cup in detail! The cup will be named Random Cup and it will be something new for you. You will apply for this cup as a single player and than you will be randomy added to a team. So you don't know in which team you will participate until the cup starts. Mappools: The mappools for this cup are still under construction and will be made by the player council. What would even count as second nationality? I mean, if my parents are Polish and I'm born in Germany..
I think that's the biggest problem. That's exactly why you can't play in other countries' leagues, without speaking their language and having that country as main nationality..

Even if i would live in Greece/Austria/Poland that wouldn´t prove whether i am Greek/Austrian/Polish or not.
And i won´t copy my birth certificate for you ( i am already trusted player ) and as you know the language of Austria is German ,too. And i think i´m able to speak german...or do i have to proove that too?

so what about the idea that every german province(bundesland) makes its own team ?!
because i think every german province has more than 7 players, bzw at least 4 players.

We will discuss this topic, but as Krankie already mentioned it would be difficult to make a clear rule who is allowed to play for land x.

What do you think about it? Because if you do the Cup in this way there will be about 4 teams I guess and no team will have a chance against Germany just because they got the most good players.

well ye all in all id say it wuld be like 6-8 teams max. not sure if its enough but still its a nice idea and hopefully itll work
one question: how many players are allowed per country?

Even if all admins and the whole player council would prefer it, it wouldn't be possible. It's just not allowed.

I think what you feel in your heart is all that matters, not a goddamn IP adress. If you feel yourself to be Polish, then you should play under Poland's glorious flag. Of course I know that there are lots of spineless reptiles to whom nationality, and patriotism mean nothing.

Seriously i understand that this is the EU Section but to divide Germany in it's countries is a great idea. I guess that every "Bundesland" has got enough players maybe as much or more than a country like Netherlands, so it would be fair (so there won't be all the good 7Lives or tuw members from Germany in one team), I think except of Switzerland (:D) nothing could stop a team like this.
But if that's your decision Admins, I have to respect that, don't stop dancing >.<

Now for your second point, if I understood the news I think you have to sign up individually, which means you can't sign up with a team like 7lives or tuw. Now I hope the admins will show some admin-spirit and will not only chose the best players of Germany for the German team, and give other Germans a chance to take part in this.
Now for my last point, we have one Irish player, and about 3-5 English players. I'd like to make the suggestion to allow the British Isles to make a team.

Before I start my speech, let me state this: I do not have problems if someone who's nationality is diffrent than from his/her location, would play for that country.
But to get back to you Claim, your idea is nice, and as I said above I don't have any problems with it. But the problem is quite clear in my eyes. It's very easy to say your nationality is diffrent than from your country.
Let me make myself clear with an example:
There's a team that likes to play together, but they can't be in the same team for this cup since they don't live in the same country. So they think of an idea, because there is a rule that says you don't have to live in the country, if it's your nationality. So they simply change their nationality to for example Bosnia, or any country which has none, or almost no swbf2 players. They all get selected, and rock the cup. Fair, eh?
Oooh goddamn only gays living in belgium, I'm gonna change my nationality to UK and apply for the UK Country team. Easy, no?
I'm sure not everyone would use this way of cheating, but again I'm sure there are people who would.
But then again, I'm not sure how many other teams than the German team there will be.

I like the idea of a Balkan team. For people who don\\\'t know what Balkan is, it is some kind of region and includes some http://eurodialogue.org/files/fckeditor_files/balkan-countries-map.png" target="_blank">countries . I think the countries of Balkan can\\\'t make a team on their own, but Balkan probably could.
Same would go for the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourgh).
I also forgot a point about this nationality matter in my previous posts. I think if people can prove their nationality they should be allowed to play for that country.

We won't change it at all, because we can't get a real proof in the most cases and if someone wants an exception, all wants one.
But we can think about things like a balkan team or a north europe team etc...
I already had a Country championchip in crysis and i know the issues, thats the reason, why we set the restrictions.
But anyway nice news ;=)

Because what if those players who want to play for a certain country can proove that they really have this nationality? Whatever, maybe I am already in Greece when this cup starts so my IP will be the greek one anyway :P
