Qualche mese fa abbiamo visto da dove nasce ESL grazie a readmore.eu che aveva visitato la Turtle Entertainment GmbH a Colonia, mostrandoci lo staff che lavora per il portale. It took a lot of energy of players, admins and all the people around, but finally we proudly present the nations that managed to qualify for the last step towards victory: The gamescom at Cologne, Germany, venue of this year's European Nations Championship grand finals!

Several weeks ago we announced that the system of the ENC playoffs changed from Double-Elimination to Single-Elimination. In the same move most of the ENC's discipline got a Best-Of-3 instead of a Best-Of-1. The FIFA 09 tournament is going to have a new system as well:

Today the second match of the relegation in Counter-Strike takes place. Two days ago Germany was able to beat Denmark in a thrilling match with three overtimes at the last map. They now have to face Poland, this evening we will find out who is going to play against the reigning champion Sweden!

The Main Round of the European Nations Championship 2009 is almost done and the playoffs will kick off today. The 2nd placed teams will face the 3rd of the other group in the quarter final, while the 1st placed teams are already qualified for the semi final. The upcoming weeks will determine the champions of the European Nations Championship 2009.

We have yet another three teams being kicked out of the European Nations Championship 2009. The Call of Duty team of the United Kingdom and the Defense of the Ancients teams of Sweden and Russia gathered too many penalty points and are therefore kicked out of the running season.

The finals of the European Nations Championship 09 will be held at gamescom. Europe's leading trade fair for the gaming industry will take place in Cologne, Germany, from 19th until 23rd of August and expects more than 200,000 visitors. Ten national teams will compete for 15.000 Euro in four disciplines live at gamescom 2009.

Once again, we have to bring you sad news: The Call of Duty 4 national teams of Spain and Sweden have been kicked out of the European Nations Championship 2009 due to not showing up or not being able to play for the second time. This led to two additional major and one minor penalty points each which results in a disqualification from the running season.
