ENC 2010: NL.ql, one step closer to LAN finals!
After reaching the top6 already! The Netherlands can crown himself to the top 4 of Quake Live now. To get there, they had to pass the Britain's. For sure it wasn't an easy job, but after 3 exciting maps, NL came out as the strongest!

Statement of Ben 'Sc00T' Siebert

Before the match, we were quite confident that we would beat the United Kingdom as we simply felt we had the better team. In hindsight, this was a false thought and we should’ve prepared a little bit better.

We started out on qzdm6 (Campgrounds) where the UK did an amazing job controlling the red armor and getting control over it back whenever they lost it. This felt a bit odd as the UK is generally known as not being good on dm6. In the end we got our act back together again, but it was too late to make a win out of the map. 184-175.

On qzdm20 (Hidden Fortress) we managed to keep the flow that we had gotten from the end of dm6. We started about equally but as the game progressed we managed to get a 20+ frag difference. In the end we gained full control and just slaughtered the UK. The game ended at 240-182 which is a massive frag difference.

On qzdm7 (Temple of retribution) we kind of played without any solid strategy. The idea was to gain hold over the RA room and just hold the enemy out of it, which we did a bad job at. During the whole game the control over the RA room got swapped back and forth between The UK and us. As a result the score also went back and forth each time the control was traded, though in the end The UK managed to get a 20 frag lead on us, and we simply felt like we were about to get kicked out of the tournament. So upped our game by a notch and regained those 20 frags by a nice quadrun by Tua. In the end we won by a mere two frags lead. 217-215.

We felt a bit lucky winning this as we feel we should’ve sealed the deal in a 2-map game. Tomorrow (Which is actually today) our big game vs Russia is coming, this will decide whether or not we will go to the LAN finals, so whish us luck! :)
