ENC 2010: NETHERLANDS CSS, no mistakes!
The upcoming European Nations Championship is one of the ESL's biggest tournaments. Year after year the Benelux countries do their best to win that ticket to the ENC finals. Only one team managed to do so last year and that was the Dutch WC3 team taking silver and the BE CSS team just missing the playoffs after the Main round. Have a look at the Hall of Fame for more ENC history here.

With ASUS giving away 120,000 euro's for the event, hopefully we can get some of our teams bringing back medals in this ENC 2010!

In this post we present you the Netherlands CSS team. A team that went trough some controversy in the 2009 European Nations Championship. After collecting to many penalty points the ENC Admins decided to disqualify the team from the tournament where they were performing well in the Main Round.

This came as a shock for the scene as this team was one of the favourites to attend the playoffs. Unfortunately the ENC is a prestigious tournament and no mistakes are allowed!

Now a year passed since this incident and so we're here again with some new faces but also some faces we won't see fading away. Consisting of ex-fnatic players, MCA and others, this team has all what it takes to put pressure on their opponents. Hopefully the activity and ambition will be there to do so!

One person took up the role of team-captain and here is the presentation

Player presentation

Mark "Airraid" Koks: He does not really need a presentation since he is probably one of Europe's finest CSS'ers. Wins decisive rounds with his sick clutching abilities and intelligent gameplay. He can guide this team to victory with his experience and in-game leadership.

Richard "brains" de Kievit: He has been called onliner probably even more than WT and GuardiaN together, but as a teammate I know that when he is at his best, he will destroy anyone you put up against him. He will be our Vasili Zaitsev.

Robin "caveman" Snip: SWill be trying to keep this bunch of peeps organised.

Luuk "darky" Verink: Another player who has a great history in the CSS-scene. Has stopped playing competitively a while ago, but has come back to shoot heads. An important player with huge spraydowns. Underrated by many, but always gets his kills.

Niels "foodaS" Rutten: Has been around forever and known for his aggressive style of play. Will be our stratcaller along with Mark and will battle with him about who has the biggest clutches.

Kaj "kajsk1ng" van Staalduinen: Our WASDA-wonderboy is undoubtely the hottest, in both ways, player of our country. Also has an aggressive playingstyle which makes him suit perfectly with Niels.

Sandor "proph" de Munck: Former fnatic superstar with relentless awping skills. Due to his poker-addiction he no longer plays that often, but with his experience he can surely replace Richard whenever it is needed.

Timon "timon" Smits: Also playing for team-NL in the ClanBase NationsCup and doing a good job so far. This NIKE-promoter is surely a player to keep your eyes on as he can do some wicked stuff with almost any gun.

Milan "xertion" Veeger: Hollands most successful CSS player, who recently earned himself a contract at the Australian team Archaic eSports, will ofcourse be a part of this team aswell. Great allrounder and always in for a laugh.

Robin "caveman" Snip:
Hi folks,

I'm Robin Snip and most of you will know me under the name of caveman.
I'll be this years ENC team-captain and hope to achieve great success like last year, but without all the penaltypoints ofcourse so we can actually reach the final stage.

With fnatic dropping out of the competition recently and only kajsk1ng in a team I've been looking around to see which solution would be the best. And I think I'm satisfied of my line-up. I have picked these players because we all get along really well. It is almost the same line-up as the previous ENC which we had some great results with

Like mentioned before I still think we can make it to the final stages of the tournament and finishing top3 will be our goal.

Hope you'll all enjoy the ENC and we'll make you proud!

With regards,
Robin 'caveman' Snip

NL CS:Source history

Due to what happened in the ENC 2009 it's not easy to present those "results" which ended in default losses as the matches were deleted. Therefore we can only show the QR's of 2009. The matches of previous years are archived and 2008 was an elimination in QR3 against Slovakia.
