Why did we change the map pool:

In recent months, de_season and some other maps have been the big topics that many players have been discussing. At the end of last year we started to think about how to refresh the map pool and after talking to the major teams in Europe, we and the teams decided to add both de_season and de_contra to the map pool used in most of our tournaments.

de_season

Season has been relatively unknown in Europe while being the new star of CS:S in North America. Now de_season also has the attention of the big names in Europe and so we will give it a fair try with the best teams in Europe playing it in the ESL Major Series and most of other major CS:S events on ESL.

Contra is revived! It was in the mappool some seasons ago - some of you might even remember some of the thrilling and close matches. But back then it wasn't lobbied to stay in the map pool. Now it gets a second chance to win the hearts and minds of players.

What about the Benelux?

We have decided to follow the direction of the ESL Major Series and German EPS. In February we will be hosting several cups for you guys to get used to the new maps! The schedule will look like this:

Tuesday 1 Febuary: Gather Night de_contra
Wednesday 2 February: 5on5 Cup Contra only
Tuesday 8 February: Gather Night de_season
Wednesday 9 February: 5on5 Cup Season only
Tuesday 15 February: Gather Night de_season & de_contra
Tuesday 22 February: Gather Night de_season & de_contra
Wednesday 23 February: 5on5 cup de_season & de_contra *WIN PREMIUM*
