What happened in the EAS 1st div? We explain!
| |||
![]() Some people may have heard about it (or read the news on several esports sites) that we've had a delicate situation in our EAS 1st division. Today we try to calm things down and therefore the following statement.
It's in the late competition phase that one of the few remaining matches opposed the
What happened? Where is the problem?As we said above, a winning outcome in favour of Rodcad Gaming would have had a high impact on the final ranking. Yet such a situation would have been quite an exception when we look back on their previous results. Rumours were spread out that Antwerp Aces would arrange the match so that Rodcad would win, as ending second would give them a better seed for future EPS relegations. This rumour was rapidly spread and many teams heard about it, including Mojawi. Mojawi took this situation very serious as the EPS is important for any team representing an organisation giving them the needed support. An arranged match could not be tolerated and ESL defends Mojawi in this as we want our leagues to be representing fair play. The unexpected happens! Mojawi reactsThe match had its date and we saw these results shown on ESL. ![]() We've been given several proofs confirming the match arrangement, here is one: click here How do we deal with this? What's the story now...Before we, admins, had the time to see the match result and go trough a normal check of it, Mojawi already contacted us with what they've heard. They clearly stated that the rumour was confirmed by the result displayed on ESL. And that they could provide us with several proofs confirming it. We had to contact the concerned teams and so we firstly talked with Aces to hear their story. It's with the simple question "How is this result possible?" that we heard what Team Captain Ciseta had to say. He asked us what the problem was and we showed him the matchlink, this was followed by a direct reply that this score is not correct and that it should be the opposite, stating that he might have inserted the numbers in a wrong way... A simple mistake that they did not check afterwards as Rodcad confirmed the score and they don't care about the league anymore. But what about those rumours and conversations confirming it... Yes Rodcad and Aces both confirmed that they had the initial plan to let Rodcad win, this without any further meaning of trying to punish another team. Nevertheless things changed and Aces reconsidered such an action so they decided to play this game fair and that a team should play for its victory and it's ranking. It was a stupid mistake from those teams to even consider something like that. The score was wrongly filled in and Rodcad did not hesitate to accept it, without thinking any further on the consequences. It's only until we made Aces aware of it that they claimed their victory. Problem solved? Yes.The two concerned teams have been notified that such a behaviour is not tolerated by ESL. We've received reply that they're sorry for what happened and especially towards Mojawi. With this news, we (ESL) would like to defend Mojawi who were given a bad name by the French community site aAa. Mojawi's accusations were correct on some specific points and they also said sorry for a few inappropriate statements on Aces and Rodcad. May this be a lesson to all teams, not everything can be kept secret! Peace out and stay tuned for some exciting updates in the CS Section! Soon! :)
